Is SEO is hard to learn ....?

There is nothing difficult in learning SEO.

Seriously the only things you need to understand for a start is hiw a website functions and what is correct on page SEO.

Reverse engineer SEO services sold on marketplace and understand why sellers are ofdering such services, what are the benefits and what are the cons and risks and thats it.

You need money to do SEO even if you dont buy anything. Links cost money no matter what, tools subscriptions and so on but there isnt anything hard to learn.l.

1. Learn to create a blog with proper on page SEO

2. Learn about backlinks that can help you rank.

Thats it. The rest of the information you will pick up when you are doing your research. Its not that complicated and it definitely wont take years to learn. Not sure what @Jeepy was doing all those years.

Learning the basics isn't too hard. Somewhere like Moz will get you versed in the nuts and bolts of it all.

Of course, just like anything you'll end up down the rabbit hole - that's where things get harder!

Best thing to do is learn the basics and then setup a website to test things out. There's nothing like first hand experience to give you confidence. Once you start getting more confidence, you'll naturally start understanding algorithm changes and how SEO has aged over time.

I feel bad for your clients :) It takes a lot of time to test all stuff. Of course if you rely on some Steal Patel or other shitty SEO guru and use it as your owm knowledge then yes, you can learn SEO within a month and it's easy. If you really want to be a smart SEO expert then it takes years like every other profession.

We should learn and practice through the website at the same time. Only in this way can we learn SEO well

Thanks for sharing your experience with lots of guidance! Special mention: @Jeepy @Mr Positive @dekhajam @chipsie1102

I wish I was practicing while learning years back - That's the only way to understand SEO. Quality optimized content and backlinks should also be your main focus.

Most people on the internet lately become an SEO expert learning how to build Web 2.0 properties - BS

Learning part is much easier than Implementation. Especially in the SEO Industry

It depends on your thought, if you are so interesting to learn SEO then it will be very easy;).

Not hard but takes perseverance. It will take a lot of time and experimentation to see what works and what doesn't work. With this experimenting and practicing you will learn SEO.

Reading will help you but actually doing it is where you learn the most.

Admit, I quite lazy sometimes. I more prefer backlinks. SEO side, I not say good or experts even come keywords. I always ask the seller help me on keywords and happy they help. Yea, one thing also need budget. If you don't have time etc not sure what to do , need someone expert on SEO than have to buy services which lots of sellers here provided , of course you have to see and judge yourself which sellers SEO services is better , than the rest of the sellers. Price wise is subjective , somethings Expensive package don't mean good either do cheap services. Some seller offer a reasonable price yet their links are quality ones so have to see .

When your website traffic drops and you check if it's because of Google algorithm update but realize that it's due a manual action, you're at level 0 of SEO. Now you only need to learn what works and what doesn't for you.

SEO is damn hard to learn and it keeps changing and updating

I am also still learning. but its easy when you learn from fundamentals. fundamentals never change even with big google updates. learn from the basics. then you get the concepts... then you can repeat.

I've been in the digital marketing space for the last 8 years. And while I'm no SEO expert, I can tell you it is pure hard work. Takes a lot of patience as well. I haven't dug the depth, but I've close people who always say it is sheer hard work. About the patience part, I know it from experience. I started off with a niche site, and due to lack of patience, gave up on it and focused towards writing.

However, SEO for writers isn't very hard I would say. If you're already punching out tiptop long-form content with relevant inbound and outbound links, you just need to format your content properly. Even then, there's a learning curve in formatting properly. UX optimization becomes a concern. You may also need to do a catchy meta description, if you're doing client work, or trying to rank your site. Being able to sprinkle keywords throughout contents is also a bit tricky. But yeah, far less hassle than link building and ranking sites.
