Ask me anything about Facebook Ads 2019

I want to advertise affiliate products (mostly health and wellness products).

Sams course would be a good start. Also Depesh Mandalia's "BPM Method" course if you can find that.

In order to pay for promotion on Facebook, I need to pay for advertising with my credit card. What kind of virtual card can be tied to a Facebook account to pay for advertising?

Don't know of any, FB blocks most VCCs

Do you use any tools for FB Ads management, automation & analysis? (Besides FB Ads Manager)

I would instead do 25-50 year olds targeting people interested in motivational stuff like Tony Robbins, Marie Forleo, etc. since that market is already validated on Facebook.

I would a conversion campaign of a video ad creative (in the way you mentioned), with a 2-step registration (capture their email first, then have the second page be where they can enter payment info)

Easy to build out with ClickFunnels

Thank you, what do you think would be a reasonable audience size to target for this?

No not really. I have a partners that use Supermetrics but that's usually only for complex affiliate tracking

Since you're targeting locally I would say somewhere in the 30k-100k range would be ideal.

Perfect timing, can you please tell me which course/tip to learn Facebook Ads? (besides A/B tests) and spending like a mad. I am completely new on Ads.

Thanks in advance!

I get asked this so much and realized there are basically no good free FB ad courses out there. Might record one over the next week and throw it up on YouTube.

But if you can find Sam Oven's course or Jason Hornung's course for free, those are great options.

Well, I guess I wait for yours :D

I`ll keep on eye on this thread.

Thanks.

Amazing thread.

I would like to know, If I scraped 10k group members which is very relevant to my business, Can I create custom audience with their Users IDs and then create Lookalike?

I heard it's not longer possible to create custom audience with users ID so I am curious.

Thanks!

Could anyone share Depesh Mandalis course (can't find working links in Download section )

Hi Drought,

I had a Cold Interest Campaign with 5 different ad sets 5 different interest. I've tested these interest like 5-6 days. After this 3 interests were phenomenal (ROAS 3-4). I have duplicated those interests into a new CBO campaign, every interest with his own campaign. After this change was made, everything felt on the ground and goes unprofitable.

What I have done wrong? Why CBO doesn't work at all?
Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your knowledge and time!

Quick Question:

Do you think video ad campaign linking directly to Amazon product page works the best?
Or linking to landing page, then Amazon product page?

Hey man - do you happen to know if you can use VCCs from Capital One or Citibank can be used on FB?

Don't know what you mean by User IDs. You can get emails from groups using PhantomBuster, but it doesn't work perfectly (usually 10-40% match rate)

The point of CBO is to give it a range of options and the AI algorithm will divert spend to what it thinks is best. If you make a campaign 1 interest then you're basically putting all your eggs in 1 basket and hoping it's profitable every day.

Thank you for your knowledge and time!

Landing page > Amazon product page would be the way to go here.

I see many times on ads many people comments "Its working" "It's solved my problem, thank you, etc for social proof.

If I create an ad and post some fake FB comments, just to get some social proof, would that cause any issue?

It shouldn't be an issue, no

Thanks again for your answers!

For scaling do you recommend keep raising the budget of CBO or move to Adset Level Budget? And then how do you proceed?

I have a couple of calls a month with a marketer from Facebook, usually everything he tells me works well, can I trust that they are truly experts? haha It's just that if they are so good I don't know why don't they do it themselves.

Would love to get your thoughts on how would you go about doing FB ads for a YouTube channel in the Boxing niche?

Thanks

Thank you so much for replying, I really appeciate your time.

I am pretty noob with anything that has to do with FB ads but learning slowly and this thread was super helpful. I started a new ad (Traffic Campain - View langing page). It seems that i get many clicks (5$ a day per ad set), and the CTR is high and the clicks are cheap, I think though, would like to know your thoughts and if there's a specific reason why I won't get a sale. Maybe I should change something, Thanks again buddy!

No I've generally found most of the frontend reps at Facebook are dunces. They just tell you what they are forced to tell people from their management.

CBO scaling is easier than ABO, generally just adjusting the budget on it is fine.

Use Youtube Ads for a YouTube channel.

If you want purchases you need to tell Facebook that by using the Conversion objective. You told Facebook you wanted traffic at a cheap price and that's what it gave you, not traffic that was going to convert.

Got it, I already changed to Conversion, however FB suggested not to use it until the Pixel gets some data, What do you think about it though?

And one more thing, Do you think starting Shoutouts may help to feed the Pixel data and makes things easier and faster?
