Google hitting expired domains?

I have seen that Google are penalizing the money sites created using expired domains.

The two unannounced major updates recently happened proves what I am saying.

What's your view on this?

If the site is clean in the Wayback with a strong backlink profile and clean anchor. So there will be no issue at all. I have few review sites on Expired Domains and not seen any major drop so far.

They've been doing this forever.

Google itself is a domain registrar. They see everything about a domain instantly. When it expires, they immediately set the history back to zero trust.

Ok so you are making a statement that proves what you are saying, yet you give no example at all and assume now this applies to 100% of cases as you have seen 2 sites being hit...

Is that real? I've bought expired domains that rank just perfectly - no extra work done at all save for re-instating the content.

I can totally see that Google will eventually put the blocker on it though. It would kill PBN building overnight.

Yes, they de-index them. But I think they do this just for expired domains that don't have any backlinks built after.

Expired domains and especially clean ones will always be hit this will be temporary

Google will penalize only on an expired domain which has spammy links and also Google does not have any penalty for this as long as the content on it has not been used anywhere else.

We have several clients that purchase hundreds of expired domains per week from us and are systematically turning them into PBN sites. These are clients in some of the most lucrative industries in the world and generating millions of dollars per month in affiliate commissions.

These aren't affiliate guys working from their bedroom, but are actual corporations registered offshore consisting of teams that are dedicated to dominating the SERP's through blackhat SEO.

Their entire revenue is from SEO affiliate commissions, driven by black hat PBN's.

If Google's algo even hinted at resetting domain power at the expiration date, we'd know about it.

Expired domains for PBN have never worked better or generated higher ROI than what they do right now.
