I get lot of milking in upwork, where client keeps asking me more information with intent(presumably) to not hire.
Do you go all the way with them or in some point you put your foot down and ask to get hired or GTFO ? How do you solve it ?

You can say something like "Please complete the hire process on Upwork so that I can start this project immediately." or "It is a violation of Upworks terms of service agreement to provide the information you asked BEFORE the hiring process is complete. Request you to complete the hire process on Upwork so that I can start this project immediately."
If they don't agree to the above request, then they are definitely trying to milk you, so don't be a cow
Just let them go, and move on to the next client. You need to set proper boundaries with clients and girlfriends, else they'll take from you everything you have to give, and you won't get anything back.

If you are good at something, and if there are clients on Upwork posting jobs related to what you do, then yes you can start on Upwork.

And how can I find offers if i have no experience? I think there are a lot of competition on Upwork. Newbie has no chance to catch the offer. Nobody wants to deal with new freelancers with zero experience.

Bruv you gotta start somewhere. "It's too difficult, it's impossible etc etc" - these are all defaults. If you stick to the defaults, you'll never make money. Everyone's too busy hunting their own prey so no one has time to teach "how to start when you have nothing". There's plenty of good info on the internet on how you can start a freelancing career. Before you get on Upwork, you first need to have some background, something you are good at already. If you don't have any skill, then you need to learn that first before hunting for clients. If you don't do anything already, then you won't get anything on Upwork.

I agree but I think problem is in competition. There are too many freelances on Upwork. You can have good tech skills but without promotion yourself it is impossible to get offer.

Then do a joint venture with a marketer who will work on getting projects, and you can fulfil them. And share the money with him/her.

I agree. I just want to know is it worthy to get into freelance. I mean, I could learn php, java script, by 6 months. I could create portfolio, nice projects. But I'm not sure if it worthy. I see huge competition on freelance like UpWork. And only people who can represent themselves will be able to receive offers from clients. You can be a cool tech guy, but it you can't sell yourself you will not earn money. Or if you can't find the marketer. I think top freelancers has their own companies, so they will always get offers. They spent a lot of money on ads.

$25 to 50 per hour for hourly projects. But I mostly do fixed price.
Hey i had a question how many proposals connects are you using up in a day and does upwork kick you out for using too many connects per day as i heard something about someone getting kicked out for applying to 1000 jobs or something so please share some info on the costs for connects used up in a day . As for a marketer what do you mean by that they make the proposal for you ?

i have never use Upwork before but it is in my plan to try. Im good at what I do and have a niche idea.
If I dont get any gigs, so what? If i do make only $50 that will fund something else.
As others have said, you have to start somewhere. We leaen most from doing, not reading.
