Second, you mentioned somewhere in this thread that Jason Hornung/Sam Ovens courses are really good for learning FB ads. But these courses were made in 2017/2018. Are they still good for today? I've heard that FB ads have changed a lot.

And Zack Franklin, who's considered as a world expert on Ecom (specially Amazon), says that FB ads have become very complicated to run because of the addition of AI.

I would like to know you thoughts on this.

I believe you can change it as long as there are less than 5,000 people in the group

Yes they are still great courses and the concepts they teach still apply.

This Zack Franklin character is wrong, Facebook Ads have become SIMPLER to run with the addition of AI... Amazon's entire business runs on AI as well so kind of a stupid thing for him to say.

1. I do other things but the ad management is the real "core" service I offer. Sometimes clients want funnels/email flows built out which I do, but I stress that they are useless without quality traffic flowing through them daily.
2. I record Loom videos for clients when requested, basically breaking down big numbers like money spent, profit generated, return on ad spend, etc. but I don't do any crazy complex stuff like using reporting software or anything like that.

When starting FB ads on my single product ecommerce site, should I first make the ads objective to website visitors and after 1-2k visitors make a lookalike audience and change ad objective to add to carts for example?

I am about to team up with a friend of mine based in what I would call a tier 2 country.
He is a motivational coach and is doing workshops on increasing productivity etc.

Since he has only a small budget I feel like it could get tough to get enough people for the workshop.

There are 25 spots and he will use some friends who have fairly large Instagram accounts as well as his own SM to promote the workshop.
The ticket price for the workshop is $150.

How would you set up an effective ad campaign for this type of service in a tier 2 country?
I was thinking about targeting 25-50-year-olds with zip codes of the "richer areas".

For the ad creative, I would use and cut together some scenes of conferences and the past workshop he has given.
Should I run a conversion campaign or engagement and retarget video viewers with a conversion campaign?

Sam's should be plenty to get started out with. I would ask what you're specifically looking to advertise (eCom, lead gen, affiliate, etc.) and from there I can make more specific recommendations.

I would instead do 25-50 year olds targeting people interested in motivational stuff like Tony Robbins, Marie Forleo, etc. since that market is already validated on Facebook.

I would a conversion campaign of a video ad creative (in the way you mentioned), with a 2-step registration (capture their email first, then have the second page be where they can enter payment info)
