Funny / Cringe worthy

And the thing i it is not just dating. Like others here have suggested it is also depression threads, alcoholism threads or some other kind of addiction. This is an IM and SEO forum.

If these people are not just trolling or crying out for attention then they should really seek proper help, not the opinions of untrained forum users

i do post on lounge when i have no idea about what section to post in so the idea about removing Lounge from home page i think is not good

everything is in the title, just don't open the post if you don't want to

Not always, also it being in my feed is an issue I cannot control. I would rather there be a valuable thread there that interests me and not some kids garbage about his crush on a forum where it does not belong.

Exactly! If it's not stopped, then BHW will end up like WF + DP. I have a suggestion for @Diamond Damien though as he only has access to the forum's analytics. Excluding the lounge topics from the homepage and blocking the lounge sub-forum from getting indexed by search engines will hugely block unwanted traffic. It'll also increase the quality of content automatically.

edit.

Alexa also thinks the same as me. BHW's most of the audience is similar to DP & WF.

I agree that posting about your crush is a bit silly.
But BHW has always had people posting about stuff like lifestyle changes and mental health improvement. I do think that mental health is important and I guess we can't stop kids posting about their problems as well

Yo guys, if the owner and the rules do allow it, then i dont know why are u all complaining. I mean u could just ignore the threads u dont like its not a big deal. People do those kinda thinga to get some help and motivation.

You are having problem with few posts? Why not ignore it?
Why are you whining about it?
People are so negative.

It might be love and marriage specialist baba ji accounts.

baba ji is that you?

Lol funny how you posted it right after I created the thread.

You’re not the only one who’s made this type of thread in the past few days.

Though I think that you’re post was the most tame out of the posts I’ve seen recently

I agree but then there are clearly those looking for advice from their peers and those trolling trying to increase post count. A thread made less than 10 minutes ago by someone who joined last week has nearly 100 posts. (thankfully @BassTrackerBoats just closed it). Good for you Greg and thank you! The user probably saw this post and thought hey that's an easy way to inflate my post count on a topic that is hot right now. This is the problem, not our friends and colleagues who genuinely want some advice.

Someone with your post count and joining date would be remiss if they did not post at least something in this thread to bump their count. Especially based on the threads you usually comment in. As I said above, I agree some people do but I fear most are just clowns looking for attention and who are wasting everyone's time on this forum if people click on the thread or not.

Well I just wrote my heart out, to get advice and feel better. It was not an entertainment post or a spam or anything like that. I am not concerned with your judgement.

Why not just close all these threads? Or delete them.

No, it was entertainment. Anyone with half a brain knows they'd get more appropriate advice on reddit or even yahoo fucking answers.

Anyone with half brains knows how to ignore.

Then why are you here commenting? But you are concerned with their opinions though otherwise you would not be posing the questions. You value their opinions but just the ones you like?

And just to be clear my thread was not targeted at you. I do now see that you are a person who recently started one of these threads, it was not targeted at you but I can see why you thought that. It's targetted at them all so don't fell like you have been singled out. And as I said above, it's not just dating threads. There are many threads that would be better suited to a different kind of forum. Most people who start threads like this just end up making themselves look bad / pathetic. but again, that is just my personal judgement that you are not concerned with.

Anyone with half brains knows how to ignore.

Are you telling us you have less than half a brain, because you aren't ignoring shit, lol

The problem with those threads that although the are not against the rules the resources to manage them is outside the normal expectation and analytics of the staff management aspects.

They are allowed as they do not break the rules but the responses are often past what is allowed and we remove a bunch of responses and have to pass out warnings - neither of which we like to do.

Should people act as if they would with complete strangers in a public setting without half a dozen drinks and respond as such it would be reasonable but because they are online they think it is fine to post jackwagon commentary.

Granted my level of letting things slide might be lower than other staff members but I do ask their input before shutting down threads that make the original poster look bad, cause us to give infractions due to people thinking it is fine to make comments that are not appropriate and others that go well past what is sociable acceptable.

Good thread, @William702 - posting that one thinks is good for the forum is part of why you were nominated and approved as a Jr Exec.
