How does one become a proxy provider?

So i was answering a different thread on BHW and i got to wondering. How does one become a proxy provider?

I mean, like, all those websites out there that sell proxies. Is it like the smm panels to where 95% of them are resellers? Do people like rent a server from some company and then... hmm...

I dont know. I would like to know. Thats why im asking.

Any light? :)

What types of proxies you are reffering? datacenter / residential / mobile ?
 
Proxies come from datacenters, where large blocks of subnets are interconnected between various datacenters with routers and switches.

Essentially it is where ISPs get your IP from it comes out different because they route it to you with thier own network infrastructure and you get a unique residential "IP" leased by them.

Remember the internet is a bunch of datacenters and servers connected to each other.

So the root of a datacenter proxy is actually a piece of connection that interwebs the internet. You just get access too it

Thats why sometimes they are referred to as "Tunnels" its a connection between two networks.

So for Datacenter proxies you usually buy blocks of subnets which have around 250 IPs or so, and then you rent them out. Proxy companies do this across different datacenters and locations to diversify the ip range


For residential proxies you have a "Botnet" like system where you host an application that shares a home users IP.

And for mobile proxies you find a good data plan provider or open a business account and get bulk data and have whole bunch of 4G modems with sim cards in them usually hooked up to a raspberry or a main server which routes the 4G ip into a proxy.

All these proxy types can be and are often scraped from the web if they have open ports and are vulnerable.

Correct me if I am wrong but that is the general understanding that I have

So what are you saying about the residential proxies? I can use a program to take my IP that i get from my ISP and create multiple proxies out of it?

Im not even asking in order to sell proxies, but based on what you said, a program can be used to basically create IPs from/on the IP my ISP gives. Am i understanding that correctly?

No to get into more depth, residential proxies are usually obtained through a program or service that is used in exchange for access to your IP connection. Some companies do this through legal means and acknowledge you, some other are more gray and possibly come from infected computers with botnet software.

You can make your own proxies from a Raspberry Pi with a 4g dongle or even from a cheap vps. Of course, the proxies from a cheap vps are going to be datacenter proxies. I bought a BST called Proxy Know, and it was really interesting to learn about how most proxy sellers aren't being honest. Basically proxies cost more than $1 to make so anyone selling $1 proxies is likely reselling to multiple users.

I was able to make proxies from various cheap vps (<$2 each) and also from my home router. I'm trying to make them with a Raspberry Pi but I'm waiting on the 4g dongle to arrive. You can actually stack Raspberry Pi devices together and make a bank of 4g proxies. The ebook also has instructions for selling proxies. They have a free version but I got the $200 version. It was well worth for me, as someone who uses a lot of proxies. If you're interested in learning about proxies the free version might be good for you.

How many proxies can you make with a single Raspberry Pi, and how frequently can you make them? For example, with one Raspberry Pi can you make 10 new proxies each day, etc?

With the Raspberry Pi method it functions as a rotating 4g proxy. It's like a backconnect proxy. So you connect to one IP but your proxy will rotate like a mobile device. It's done using a 4g dongle.

For making normal proxies, you can only make 1 proxy for every IP you have. So it you have a VPS with 10 IPs, you can make 10 proxies. You can find cheap VPS for like $.99 cents but their IPs might be trash. You can get a $100 free credit from Digital Ocean and make proxies form their $5 VPS. Those IPs are not great but I'm using one for an Instagram account right now and only getting a few blocks here and there.

sorry for old thread bump but i'm searching for building 4g proxy network use Raspberry Pi. I already pm the owner of proxy know but not get reply yet, How many 4g proxies you can create per 1 Raspberry Pi with proxyknow script? 1 4g proxy per 1 ras pi or more ?

You can make 1 proxy per raspberry pi and one dongle. You can set the ip rotation to whatever you want though. There are people stacking Raspberry Pis and dongle and making a bunch of proxies.

The Proxy know people will probably respond to you. They have a free version you can download I think but it doesn't have all the juicy info.

Thank you for being so kind, reply me so fast. I saw people on BHW doing 7 dongle per raspberry pi, not just one per one. That why i asked. It will cost more if just only 1 dongle per 1 Ras Pi.
