Homepage Linking On Pbns

Hi guys,
I started creating my pbns following great guides i have seen here on bhw from great members.
During this research, i found out that the best way to create a pbn is to rebuild the site following how it was before(for expired domains) and the alternative being creating a new site layout and channeling the niche to suite yours. I stand to be corrected if this isn't the situation of pbns at the moment. I also learnt that the best way to link out of a pbn is from the homepage and one money site link is the best practice per pbn site.
However, the only information that was not included in all of these threads was how to place the link. is it best to place the link by creating a menu and linking out on the header or same on footer, or is by linking out from a clearly drafted article with enough words on the homepage?
For me i think the latter should be better but how do i make the post stick in the homepage and show the link bearing in mind that i will be posting on the pbn site often?
is there a plugin for this?

Make it a content link - create post with relevant content and put your link in it. Use latests posts as your homepage (instead of static page). You can show n (say 10) number of posts on the homepage (excerpts). Initially this post will be #1. Once you post 9 more over a period of time, your money site link post will be 10th. At that point, you can update it and republish with new date to bring it to #1. Rinse and repeat.

On some sites, you can make it sticky post as well - just don't do it on all.

This did not give a direct information on how to link from homepage. it just told us linking from homepage once is the best and some other linking methods.
