Ranking Gets Drop Day by Day

Hey I have a dedicated page for valentine and we are on top for valentine generic keyword, but as valentine comes closer my keyword ranking drops day by day and my competitors gets the higher position. Now it drop to 6th position in a week. I am also creating back links for these page on daily basis.
Could anyone please tell me how should I maintain the position? what changes do I need to make for that?
Any suggestion is highly appreciated.

Check out with Ahrefs, what sites are ranking and where are their backlinks coming from or is that they're adding more content as you are.

Anything seasonal like this happens especially when the big players and news sites come back to play.

You can be ranking top 10 for 9 months of the year, then 3 months out you'll find the sites such as Good Housekeeping, Spruce, etc etc all start to target for Valentines, Christmas, Halloween or whatever.

So you cannot rest on your laurels and 3 months out you need to ramp up your content output and links.

Believe me, even if it's an ecommerce website, an article would be beneficial. You may create a blog on your ecommerce website, like there is an option on shopify to create a blog. Even yu may write good description of about 500 words on the product page will help in ranking.

We already have 500+ word product description on every page

Write up 3 high-quality articles for pages with ranked keywords. It is recommended that the number of words in the article be 1800 or more. At the same time, add internal links to the ranking pages in the article.
