So the topic of conversation this time of year, seems to be relating to having your Christmas tree up or not?

People keep asking me if I got my tree up yet?

"Of course I do I tell them.. up in the f**king loft!"

I’m more interested in why you have a couple of model castles just laying around.

I like this festival, but we Indians don't really celebrate it.

Doing a bit more traveling before getting home to see family for Christmas. Arrive back the morning of the 19th and setting the tree up that evening. My parents just bought a place which sounds like a literal winter wonderland and since I spent last Christmas in 40 degree heat in Asia I really can't wait.

Feeling very festive today. Working with Christmas music on.

Me and my gang

I always make the Christmas tree on 24th. On this day everyone in my family is at home.

I've always thought most people set up their Christmas tree in early December. That's what we used to do in my family.

I'll be honest, I never took the Christmas tree down last year. My wife and I moved it into our cat's bedroom and forgot about it. We just moved it back into the living room yesterday.

I now feel normal as our "Dogs" (they are children to us) have their own space also.

On the other hand, maybe neither one of us and our wives are normal.

We don't have Christmas trees here. What should I do? :weep:

Plant them, grow them and garner the market.
Well, next Christmas may be then. :D

Jokes apart, Mead is ready. Ingredients for cake is ready. Wifey will bake them tomorrow. All set for a rocking Christmas. :D

Care to share a good recipe for mead??

I have only had it a handful of times from some greek friends, I really enjoyed it.

Is it hard to make?

It's the simplest alcohol to make on earth (and probably the oldest ever). You can't go wrong with it (Worst case, you end up with vinegar.. good quality one). Youtube has awesome tutorials about it. Go through them, you will like it.

My favorite combo:

1.2 l of great honey (Get the best you can. That makes a good one. Only raw honey).
5 l water
I prefer red star (edit: My apologies :p starsan is a sanitizer :D.. )yeast but feel free to use anything if you need alcohol content to be less than 12%. Even bread yeast works (but the flavour is a bit off for my taste).

Edit: Oh the aromatics..

I use 4-5 sticks of cinnamon , 1 cup of strong Darjeeling tea; a few slices of ginger and lots of clove; for flavoring. Boil them all in water for sanitizing them, and put into your mead.

I dunno the abv. I don't measure it. I have it for taste, not alcohol (mainly that is). :p

For more, kill youtube today. You will thank me next year. ;)

Thanks for that,

Ill try making a batch for new years :)

As much as I'd love one, no Christmas tree for me - too many little furry ninjas in our house ready to tear it down. :-)

I don't do holidays. It's just the government trying trying to get it's last push in for sales taxes. I don't need the government telling me when I should go see my family either. I go whenever I want to and see only those that I want to see.
