On 16 December, the number of visitors to my website has doubled. Then he quickly declined. The visitor count has started to increase again, but I'm not sure it will be back.

16 Dec : 1.5K
17 Dec : 735
18 Dec : 315
19 Dec : 409
Today's end of day forecast: 500s

I don't see a warning in Search console. What do you think is going on?

Warning can appear weeks after google-ban.
But I do not think so. Just look around BHW - there are SO MANY fluctuations right now. I dropped on big keywords from 8-9 to 20, but only on websaites with English language. Other, in local language, are all right.

In my experience, what people refer to as the Google Sandbox is not something you fall into once you are out of it, its basically a hold on your domain for the first few month. Without knowing more about your site I would suspect that one of your pages managed to jump into the top 3 for a high search volume page for the day resulting in the massive increase in traffic and then fell back to its previous position. Check your page level analaytics for that day and you should be able to see if this is the case.

Thank you for this information. My website language english.

If the site is less than a year old, don't be surprised to see this kind of fluctuations with traffic and rankings. Age and authority is one of the most important rank factors if not the MOST important. You should expect your websites to be all over the place the first couple years. Obviously every niche is different and there are outliers (usually in new or uncompetitive niches, or niches that are spammy and Google washes the SERPs frequently). Continue to do what you are doing and don't freak out when you see huge fluctuations - unless you get a Unnatural Link Warning in Google. One of the biggest mistakes I see clients do is, they start getting crazy changing things with their on-page, disavowing links, etc... This is exactly what Google wants you to do!

SerpWoo did a good case study on the topic - https://www.serpwoo.com/blog/analysis/domain-age/

They also touch on it in their other case studies for Ecom, Local, and Higher Education. Highly recommend readying all of them, as they are a wealth of information.

Is there anything I need to do because of this update? Should I just wait?
Unless you have been penalised with notification do nothing, just add a couple of new articles and let nature take its course.

I'm not sure if I missunderstand your first post but I don't think that you have been hit by the rollout.

Does your traffic look more like this if you include the says before the 16th?

That's not Google Sandbox, it's an update that was recently pushed. There's already a thread discussing this. Seems Google wanted to give some webmasters their christmas present.
