Where are you getting tiktok content from?

I'm in the filmmaking niche and I'm not making any of my own content right now, I just repost content from Instagram. The plan for the future is to start making my own content once I start making some money and I build the brand a little more.

The thing with TikTok right now is that you have to choose content that actually has the TikTok feel to it in order to actually grow. Don't treat it like it's Instagram, make content for TikTok, treat it like its own platform, if you want to grow on TikTok you have to get submerged in the community, see what videos get the clicks in your niche then get on Instagram, find similar videos and repost them (If you're into reposting). Right now it has a mainly teenage audience with the recent addition of the Millenials so you will have to find videos that appeal to that audience. I used to repost the exact stuff I had on my IG, but once I got a bunch of views I realized that I have to treat TikTok like its own thing and actually find posts on Instagram that I think would do great for the goldfish attention span of the people of TikTok. As a side note, flashy thumbnails bring views, it's a clear difference, so for the thumbnail, you have to choose a section of the video that has a lot of visual interest, bonus points if the colors are vibrant.

Now here's my $0.02 on region-locked content: TikTok looks at your region and it decides to show your videos only to the people from that region. Now if your video is good enough for your own region then it must be good enough for the world as well. How big is your account makes a huge difference because it will help you get more views and likes for your videos so you will get the chance to get your video in front of the world. You've just started this journey, be patient. I got my first deal of luck with a video that hit 40k views. It got me to about 500 followers (From my region). Then I got another video viral, and I saw a trend: My first 100k views (I think) were from my region. Soon after that, I started getting traffic from neighboring countries. And then I hit a threshold at 300k views if I recall correctly (Don't quote me on that). That's when my video started getting shown to an international audience. The bottom line is that you have to be patient, I got triggered at first when I found out that TikTok region locks you and I wanted a Tier 1 audience, but now the system makes sense. It brings you the opportunity to get your content to compete with the big guys even though you don't have a huge following.

Are you selecting music to put over your videos as well?

I extract content from tiktok everyday and use Videoshop to format it for Instagram. Super easy task and then you can schedule it on a content scheduler without a sweat
Looks pretty easy to grow on tiktok so I figured I might as well get in. The issue I am facing is im having a hard time finding content to post as most Instagram / youtube videos are a different aspect ratio than tiktok. Where are you getting your content from

Does anyone know about the idea of removing "md5" metadata, to make the video appear as "new" to the algorithm?

Any software or tool that can handle that sort of task?

I’ve been doing that for the past year & TikTok is pretty much free land rn (for marketers)
1- make a list of your top 5-10 IG accounts within your niche
2- install an extension call IG downloaded (get the premium one $10 life time totally worth it)
3- open your top competitors on your desktop & the extension will spit their best post (u can segment wether u wanna download pics or vids)
4- after you download the top videos you can use an app call inshot to zoom in & hide any watermarks (if there’s any)
5- use 2 viral tags & 3 not so viral within the 500k range. (At first you won’t get any views but I noticed after the 5-7th post using the same hashtags every post after become viral just like they did on IG.
6- make sure every account is niche specific
7-once you have 3-5 solid accounts u can easily start growing other by giving S/O within your accounts.
8- SIGN UP to tiktok Ads platform (even if you’re not running ads atm) so you can get early access to their ads platform when they’ll officially release it next year in the USA.
Have fun mate :)

I dont get it why would you grow on tiktok when the traffic is too lazy to visit your website or anything which is not HOT GIRL ...

Great tips. Any idea on the theory of how metadata (md5, location, etc) affects videos in the algorithm?

I’m running 4 accounts per devise. I got my personal iPhone X & an old iPhone 6 each phone has 4 accounts, same WiFi, different Apple ID’s different emails, different phone numbers (google voice#). I’m not so sure wether metadata has anything to do n tiktok but after downloading the videos I re-name them using broad match keywords. Lol Tbh probably has nothing to do but again worth to test tho.
