Looks pretty easy to grow on tiktok so I figured I might as well get in. The issue I am facing is im having a hard time finding content to post as most Instagram / youtube videos are a different aspect ratio than tiktok. Where are you getting your content from

The way I do it is just grabbing a video from Instagram and crop it to 9:16 using an app on Android. Works wonders, I do this for 95% of my videos. The traffic I'm getting is insane as well, started 3 weeks ago and I now have a video sitting at 500k views and growing non-stop.

Instagram or reddit, if you suck at video editing you can use InShot for some quick modification on your phone.

How many followers are you sitting on?
Any CTA yet?

You can get maximum content from Reddit , Instagram ..

Reddit, instagram, youtube, take short videos from youtube and edited.

I'm sitting at 9k followers right now and I grow at about 1-2k followers/day at the moment. My video suddenly got shown to a wider audience. I'm from a tier 2 country and my first 2-3k followers were 90% from my country, now I'm getting views from all over the world. There are no CTAs in the videos itself but I try to drive traffic to my Instagram page by linking it to the TikTok page, using a CTA in the bio, and leaving a comment on the big video telling everyone about my IG. This actually worked wonders for my IG page and I'm getting traffic. I'm soon to build a website for the brand as I see this grows pretty nicely.

Edit: This is for people that are not on TikTok yet: Can't stress this enough. If you're not on TikTok right now, you are missing out on some insane free traffic in a not so competitive environment. My videos rank for really hard to compete on IG hashtags with ease.

What kind of content are you posting? Are you making it yourself?

Worldwide ranking is what im struggling with right now. 11 posts, 80k views, 6 day old account with 600 followers & 6k likes. 98% of views coming from my country.

Content is good and niche relevant but my most "viral" videos are capping out between 20-30k and some not going outside of my followers even when they receive high likes.

Do you think there was anything that really triggered your global growth?

I'm in the filmmaking niche and I'm not making any of my own content right now, I just repost content from Instagram. The plan for the future is to start making my own content once I start making some money and I build the brand a little more.

The thing with TikTok right now is that you have to choose content that actually has the TikTok feel to it in order to actually grow. Don't treat it like it's Instagram, make content for TikTok, treat it like its own platform, if you want to grow on TikTok you have to get submerged in the community, see what videos get the clicks in your niche then get on Instagram, find similar videos and repost them (If you're into reposting). Right now it has a mainly teenage audience with the recent addition of the Millenials so you will have to find videos that appeal to that audience. I used to repost the exact stuff I had on my IG, but once I got a bunch of views I realized that I have to treat TikTok like its own thing and actually find posts on Instagram that I think would do great for the goldfish attention span of the people of TikTok. As a side note, flashy thumbnails bring views, it's a clear difference, so for the thumbnail, you have to choose a section of the video that has a lot of visual interest, bonus points if the colors are vibrant.

Now here's my $0.02 on region-locked content: TikTok looks at your region and it decides to show your videos only to the people from that region. Now if your video is good enough for your own region then it must be good enough for the world as well. How big is your account makes a huge difference because it will help you get more views and likes for your videos so you will get the chance to get your video in front of the world. You've just started this journey, be patient. I got my first deal of luck with a video that hit 40k views. It got me to about 500 followers (From my region). Then I got another video viral, and I saw a trend: My first 100k views (I think) were from my region. Soon after that, I started getting traffic from neighboring countries. And then I hit a threshold at 300k views if I recall correctly (Don't quote me on that). That's when my video started getting shown to an international audience. The bottom line is that you have to be patient, I got triggered at first when I found out that TikTok region locks you and I wanted a Tier 1 audience, but now the system makes sense. It brings you the opportunity to get your content to compete with the big guys even though you don't have a huge following.

I'll be using this opportunity to ask something about tiktok as I don't want to open another thread.
I've been uploading on TikTok for 2 days now but my videos are getting 0 views, no matter what hashtag I'm putting in it. I've seen people saying that TikTok will push your video in the For You section and if it gets engagement then it will stay there, but my videos have 0 views. How do you get started with it?

very curious...how much IG traffic/followers do you attribute to Tik Tok per day? I know it's hard to know for sure, but if you had to guess based on your typical organic growth

I found a page similar to my niche and followed around 500 people over a few days, this converted to around 150 following.

When you follow someone they usually check your profile out and will watch the first video.

This initial traffic got me to for you page with zero hashtags.

My 3rd vid hit 20k view in a couple hours then stopped dead.

I wouldn't recommend doing follow/unfollow on TikTok doesn't seem to work that well.

My account is 1 day old and i have 766 followers, 2600+ likes but my most viewed video only has 6.7k views due to the niche being popular but not viral. Would be interested to know your niche that your 3rd video has got 20k views
