I have got 100k quaterly visitors to my site with $5 fiverr tier 1 pbn links. You just need to understand how to use them.
I've not PM'd you a single abusive message, that's a lie.
You launched service, I found a bug immediately, you got annoyed and I replied with REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I learnt the hard way. Lesson learnt, and I think that's what happened. They couldn't have algorithmically detected those links. If they could, SEOs using their own truly private networks would be getting penalised as well. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.
Yes, they all sent reports via gmailJust out of curiosity. Did your PBN provider user Gmail? (Edit: Or google docs for link reports? Something like that?)
Yes, they all sent reports via gmail
I take it that this applies to buying any type of link, not just PBNs?I've been trying to warn folks about this for years. For years everyone insists it's ok.
When I see a sales thread using Gmail I immediately close it.
Also before I buy anything, I ask if the seller will send reports by Gmail or anything like that. If they do, I don't buy.
Just my 2 cents for others to avoid getting penalized.

CommonThere is being reasonably cautious, and there is being batshit crazy paranoid. Even if Google wanted to read your gmails/google docs, the sheer amounts of both makes that hardly doable.
Fancy doing experiment? Me and you will exchange gmails about PBNs, SEO reports, buying and selling links and mentioning 2 specific sites of mine.Always the same reply.
"Google can't search all that data"
OK then!

Seriously, if you have proofs that Google accessed and used data from gmail/google docs you can send those to EU commission they will gladly slap G with 10-15B fine. The networks that got hit are run by idiots, its simple as that - no common sense, no simple logical thinking. I see it here again, and again and again. And the things that they get away it? Dozens of PBNs on the same IPs, linking to the same websites and takes months and years before getting penalized. Its ridiculous. While I won't talk about how I know this, because I gave someone my word I wouldn't publicize it (I could get sued), I can give you practical examples.
There have been entire networks sold here on BHW, three big ones that I can remember from recent years, that had 100% of its sites taken down at once.
Two used Gmail and Google Docs for delivery, the 3rd one I don't know how they got caught.
In both cases Google took down not only the PBN but also all the customers who bought links.
I was an early customer in one of these networks but after the site took off I took the link down. It was a $300 / month link so after it got up, I invested the 300 in content.
About one year later, when I no longer have links on any PBN networks, my site gets a manual penalty.
How do you think they got to my site?
That's just one example.
This is not the proof I'm talking about. The big case where I got definitive proof is something much much more complicated than this and I can't talk about it.
The funny thing is blackhatters shudnt care about all this and we always adapt but still good to be safeYes, there (probably) has been no penalties as a direct result of using Gmail, gDocs, etc.
That is not the point.
The point is: when you eventually get a manual review (and you will in any moderately competitive space), the manual reviewers can easily find associated Gmail accounts, etc, and then they can simply search for evidence of websites you own, links bought, etc, etc.
Simply put: why the fuck would you put all your eggs in one basket? You just make life easier for Google manual reviews.
If you're not wearing a tinfoil hat in this game then you don't have enough to lose. Those of us that do have much to lose will take necessary precautions.
