Autoblog monetization and business model questions

Sorry for a question that might be so newbie. I see that some merchants publish that they build automatic blogs around a trend (ie. Bitcoins) that use a spinner api to generate "original" content.

Does it just work to monetize with adwords?

If the content is spun and automatic, how do they handle seo and positioning?

Are these autoblogs really used to generate passive income? How much money could you expect from this?

Please if anyone has experience in the subject share it.

If you can bring the traffic u are good, don't expect much on SEO. maybe if its an expired domain and u buy a lot of relevant links

That is what I don't get: if SEO doesn't work and content is not good enough for human reading (because of spinners) ... what is the point to drive (paid or free) traffic to the blog?

SEO is a form of traffic, traffic is used to monetize audience rather than content
