Just a quick question

in my niche nobody buys the product straight off the facebook ad. it's not working for me

I guess nobody sees the ad and thinks "i need this product right now". maybe like 1% of people do

going to set up remarketing to try and convert some of this audience

So does most of your conversions come from the fb ads or the remarketing?

If your ad isn't converting very well, then you are definitely targeting a wrong "FB Audience" which is not relevant to your niche or you are targeting a broad audience.

The best thing for your test would be that you run different ads set which are targeting different audiences and interests within your niche. How big is your CTR on your facebook ads?

Facebook ads are converting very good if you have done your homework and if you know your audience/interests which you are targeting.

Most sales are done by remarketing, but not neccessarily the way you think.

I dont know exactly what your selling, but fb ads are just part of your top end funnel.

If you look at it like this and concentrate on getting people into your funnel and get their email, then you can remarket to them for almost $0 by email, so that when they are ready to buy they are more likely to do so from you.

That is a lot cheaper then an over reliance on fb for all your marketing.

My remarketing ads just got approved today. Will see after 1 week the performance

Good tip. I split my ads into 3 ad sets targeting different audiences 2 days ago. 1 is targeting a LAL audience of a page I own in the same niche. The other 2 is targeting different interests related to my niche.

How big is your CTR on your facebook ads?

CTR across the 3 ad sets with different audiences is 4.08, 4.80 and 4.60

CPC is £0.10, £0.0933 and £0.13

Total link clicks is around 1000 in the last 4 days and I have no conversions.

thanks for the help. What do you think of these metrics?

Good tip, do you recommend having a popup on the site asking people to sign up to the newsletter and receive discounts and offers?

You are not targeting the right audience, put in ur mind that any product have a buyer with certain age or gender, just test ur ads before scaling on budget.
Hope it helps u

Thanks for the advice. So best thing to do is start to narrow the audience?

And how long does it take for me to know whether my audience is right? 1 week?

Just 3 days of testing should be enough u only need some data to make sure where to target, try different ads also invest around 200$ in testing. Then the winning one scale on budget

I think it all depends on what your industry is and what you are trying to sell. However, whatever niche you’re focusing on, your ads should be more effective. As it’s already been mentioned, the most common issue is targeting the wrong audience. Facebook has so many targeting options; try to define your audience better and test different audiences to see what works and what doesn’t. Also, it wouldn’t hurt if you improved your ad copy, used a better CTA, found a more attractive image, etc.

thanks for the advice, I hear Facebook needs 8000 impressions and 50 conversions before it learns who to target

I agree 3 days should be enough to get a good idea

Thanks for the advice. Today I added 4 more ad sets targeting different age ranges, interests and cities within my country. Will compare shortly

I think Facebook ads is all about experimentation and feeding data, I will stick it out

thanks for the help
