Where do major record labels buy youtube views from?

Oh yeah silly me. That's the whole point of music - to watch a video not to listen.

Are you confusing the movie industry with the music industry?

Time of day LOL. Radio stations repeat music. It's on ALL the time. You can't target me to listen to the new band if I've never shown an interest in them or that kind of music.

Fuck me you really are thick as shit - and you want to do marketing? You are claiming the biggest medium for that industry is flawed and does not work because of the "internet"

lmao u said radio stations repeat music all the time. yes every person knows that, do the repeat the same music continuously? after it ends? no they play a complete set of different music tracks, u have to wait for all those to finish to listen to it again, so if a person was on the way to work or school listening, if it was played at a different time, then they missed it. if it is internet or youtube, when they online, boom recommended, or can watch later . so keep crying on here it's ok

Nobody is debating that.

What you're saying is that nobody listens to radio anymore, which is not true.
well its kinda barely used in the place where i stay so i thought it maybe outdated but again yes i was debating the other thing aswell, internet is more effective advertisement medium than radio. he was saying no to that lmao

As someone who loves pop music and believes to know a thing or two about the music business and entertainment...

I highly doubt big labels pay online services to receive (fake) views/likes/comments. IMHO, it's too risky and not even needed.

Artists, public relations managers and labels have other sources of traffic. More legit ones. Fans and real people who are interested.

Not saying they're not spending money. They do, in all kinds of ads and as an investment. But in a lot of cases, they're not paying a dime.

They have free promo in media like magazines, radio stations, on TV, website articles, YT interviews etc. So, try to think wider. Much wider.

hmm yea. even i doubt they have the need to use fake views

What did I said?

I said for y/tube music videos to get all them likes it has nothing to do with PPC/Google or any of the crap you are spouting music producers do not need to spend money on PPC/Adverts when for them there is a more PROVEN medium and much more cost effective medium to use from day 1 in fact the new track or music may even get played on the radio WEEKS in advance of it being released or even launched online to build up hype.

I'm not saying internet adverts are not effective.

I'm saying the day 1 rush in video likes and views is down to radio. Not down to adverts.

Radio stations push a new track launch at the time most kids are going to school in the car or bus or when most people are traveling in fact they all say coming up at 8am new track or whatever the time maybe for that country where MOST of the audience is listing to that ONE station.

That's how they get mass traction, that's how they get the instant hype and buzz people hear that track they go off and find it and listen to it again and again. I said that's effective because 9/10 people listen to the radio.

You are telling me it's wrong because no one listens to the radio and radio can't target people as good as adverts.

I been telling you people listen to the radio because of news & music. Makes no difference if a different track plays, If you push an advert or not. There are no ad blocks you can't skip you just sit and listen. Your audience is exactly that - targeted there are radio stations of just pop, rock, rap, talk everything thats a specific audience listening right there.

The very fact you can't understand that and reply with blah blah despite asking for my proof of 9/10 people listen to the radio shows you have little to no clue. There is a way to life and business away from the keyboard...

they get also lot of Traction with youtube as also. those videos go on trending page in the first 2 or 3 days.

also music can be advertised anywhere, even on the internet, not just youtube.

there are apps and website embeds and so many other places that spam the ads

Yes not going to deny that. You are still trying to argue the "internet" vs the "radio" which is not what I'm doing.

I'm telling you for a music label $ for $ £ for £ I bet there is no better medium for them than radio because of the number of listeners.

Video, Streaming services, Apps what ever else there maybe. They will come second as a promotional tool for a music label over radio just because of the numbers and the audience.

You understand that now yes or no?

ok ok yu win 100-0

be happy now

This thread is really eye opening. Never thought how if a label or artist was revealed to be buying views, how much of a controversy and negative effect it would have. Even Gangnam Style’s video looks more legit now to me than ever before.

it won't have negative effects. these videos are meant to get popular anyway and people already know they have big budget advertisers behind them

like i said u can just buy from adwords. it won't be fake. these days even small companies invest bigger on adwords and get real audience.

and again having more views but less comments is not always a way to prove that it's fake engagement. I've seen channels that I know about that gets lot of views but less comments and likes and I know these channels won't use fake views etc. I've experienced the same on one of my channel with very high views and less engagement. it all depends on ur audience.

what if someone turned off comments of the video after they uploaded, and for a long time. then suddenly enable comments after hitting many views then the comments to view ratio would look very weird. this kind of things can happen dude

Thanks for your input. I know the power of adwords views, but I'm asking specifically if major labels are still buying fake views or are they mostly doing adwords now until organic reach starts pouring in.

I understand comments can be sparse, BUT the quality of the comments can look bad, i.e. generic comments that have no relevancy to the video or avatars with all Chinese people when the band is from Alabama.

yea it's all possible you never know but what im saying is big companies and music labels probably don't need this fake things. smaller companies rely on fake views probably coz they don't have the budget for adwords. adwords is very expensive for 1 million views and more. but kinda affordable for lesser views

Now let's be realistic here, there is absolutely no way that some new MTV ''star'' who has just released a song is more popular in a first few days than all songs from The Beatles combined...Only a fool would believe that, and there are a lot of fools in this world so I was just wondering since it is more than obvious that major record labels buy huge amounts of views, where do THEY really buy them from? It must be a kind of a deal with the YouTube, that is Google, itself, but is there a website that provies youtube views that is secretly owned by YouTube (Google) itself, and if so does anyone here know of it?
Big companies have millions of followers + they do press releases to the biggest news/media websites on the planet. Pretty much at least one newspaper/magazine from every continent and language will write about the release. It's not really hard to figure out how they manage to get such an audience.

There are artists who blow up on youtube but don't get much radio play because their music doesn't fit the popular genres.

If an artist is unknown, and they go viral, there has to be some mechanism, a large platform that kicks off their views (please don't say SEO). Once enough organic engagement is reached, watch time, repeat listens, THEN youtube starts to share the video with users.

This is probably where adwords works in the absence of a large traffic source.

No you got it wrong. There was an investigative journalist article in my country a few month ago that explained it, at least how it works in my country.
Criminal syndicates use this system to launder illegal money and it is actually pretty smart. They pay "hackers" (words from the article) with cryptocurrency to get their new rap artist alot of fake views, he rises in the serps and gets more exposure and of course more sales. Viola clean money.
Same tactic is used to get in the top 10 seller charts. They use dirty money to buy thousands of the artists songs to push him into the top 10. Once in the top 10 they make their money back plus profit. And all clean.

Hmmm. I've heard something like this, but I've heard the "hackers" were youtube themselves.

That has got to be the weakest and slowest form of laundering I've heard of to date...they could have opened a bunch of fast food restaurants and got off far more quicker than that.

They actually had an interview with one of these "hackers". Here is the documentary in german:

They are doing that as well. Also with import/export shops.
In my opinion restaurants and shops work much slower than pushing an artist up the charts.

like i told you if you have budget you don't need mechanism. pay for ads. simple
