I know this post is a bit old but I thought I'd chine in anyway since the music industry is a file I work in quite exclusively. You would be surprised how many views that poor in the min a mega star releases some new material. I am sure there are some mini/indie labels that utilize bots or sorts to gather views but the major labels really have no reason for such activity. I've worked directly with the promotion and marketing department at universal music group and not one person purchased social media activity I personally am not against it, but when you spent millions of dollars on an artist you tend to really want legit results. Short answer Major= not a chance in hell Indies= possibly

Yeah these ppl have uber big marketing companies in THE REAL WORLD. They don't need to resort to blackhat ways since they just put a youtube link in their tv ads. They also use Instagram and shiz and other ways to promote a youtube vid.

they don't need to resort to blackhat ways coz obviously they have the money plus if u have money for Google adwords with good content u can obviously buy your ways to success. just pay more and more u can buy yourself to 1 million views or 100 million views. its possible so don't think that companies also don't buy views. obviously they don't buy fake bot views, maybe they do but they can just pay for real Google ad words legit views. so yea

They absolutely buy fake views. I have consistently sold to clients with over 1mil followers. Maybe not "all", but the smart ones invest in fake engagement.

yes possible but the big companies don't need to.they have good budget. they could just buy real views from adwords not that expensive. with such a massive budget they can hit 100 million views within a short period. also fake views Probably for smaller companies with a tight budget. big companies don't need this

Well, big companies have to deal with the legal ramifications of their actions. I deal with entertainers and their agents, not usually huge companies. Huge companies hire marketing teams to extend their reach.

I have, however, sold to some smaller OTC stock companies that purchased a ton of fake engagement to boost their stock.

yea possible. but again vevo music video promotions will have a large budget and 100 percent sure that pay a ton of money to adwords to reach a large audience. that's how they land on trending quick

They will drop about $10k in fake engagement and $100k+ on real marketing just on YouTube releases alone. They use ALL methods of promotion. Of course their agent needs to be smart about the quality of fake engagement they purchase.

It seems like it would be hard to fake engagement due to the comment section not looking authentic? I've seen artists with a million views, thousands of likes but didn't have too many comments and the comments looked fake. I saw this kinda stuff years ago but I would think it would be much harder to make engagement look authentic these days.

like i said u can just buy from adwords. it won't be fake. these days even small companies invest bigger on adwords and get real audience.

and again having more views but less comments is not always a way to prove that it's fake engagement. I've seen channels that I know about that gets lot of views but less comments and likes and I know these channels won't use fake views etc. I've experienced the same on one of my channel with very high views and less engagement. it all depends on ur audience.


what if someone turned off comments of the video after they uploaded, and for a long time. then suddenly enable comments after hitting many views then the comments to view ratio would look very weird. this kind of things can happen dude

a person in the music industry is interviewed via big names and then ppl start to look them up.

there no hidden way.

promotors of music artist do there promoting work.

most promotors have got social badges class as celebrities so they got connections when they mention a new artist on a post can cause massive traffic for that artist in the millions.

some promotors also interview big named artist and mention the new artist also cause big traffic.

yea but a lot of money needs to be spend to advertise to get huge traffic and wide audience reach and view boost after the initial release of a song like a big music video etc . radio isn't as big as the internet. youtube/Google/social media advertising can reach a wider audience than radio lol

Now let's be realistic here, there is absolutely no way that some new MTV ''star'' who has just released a song is more popular in a first few days than all songs from The Beatles combined...Only a fool would believe that, and there are a lot of fools in this world so I was just wondering since it is more than obvious that major record labels buy huge amounts of views, where do THEY really buy them from?
