Do you guys create a GMB website if you already have a website for your business?

It seems a little redundant, but does it help with ranking?

It’s something I want to try soon, everybody say it will help ranking and leads/calls

Yes you want this for sure !!! ... most of the people that search in their map will receive results from gmb listings. If you are spending any time at all on your website for a local service take the 20 mins it takes to set up a gmb!

What's NAPW?

Name
Address
Phone
Website

This is what is known as a "citation." Also commonly referred as NAP. Having your NAP/NAPW consistent in multiple directories builds trust with Google that you are located where you say you're located.

Having a GMB is important to show up in the local 3 pack or "snack pack." Like stated above, it takes about 20 minutes and is worth it if you're providing a local service.

Just to clarify, I have my own website and I have Google My Business set up too. But the question is whether I should use the Google cookie cutter website in addition to my own site.

I don't think anyone is quite understanding OP's question.

I wish I could answer this for you; however, I have been wondering this myself.

To note, we DO have a GMB, the question is

If you go into your GMB, you'll see "website" listed

Is this needed seeming how we already have a website, or would doing this help with rankings at all?

Understood. I didn't realize there was a website option. It's an interesting question. I haven't read anything on the GMB website being a ranking signal that Google uses, but you could set it up and link it out to your main website.

If it's a quick setup it might be worth it. Just make sure when someone clicks "website" on your GMB listing, it redirects to your actual website (which I'm sure looks a lot better than the GMB cookie cutter one).

Same here, but Google keeps sending me reminders to finishes the cookie cutter site even though my GMB listing is already linking to my main site. They seem pretty persistent so i was wondering...

I set it up 2 weeks ago, it doesnt appear anywhere and rankings has not increased as of yet. Ive heard lots of ideas about it, i know people blast links to the GMB website (site.google.) i will try it, if it works i dont think people share it here on BHW...

If you’ve ever seen anyone else use it, you’ll notice they are tacky as hell and do not help with conversions, they actually hurt. Depending on your demographic and niche you can see some outstandingly fugly landing pages with high conversion rates, and a lot of us ppc guys will say “Ugly Converts” but I call shenanigans. The age old adage of following the leader( unless of course you are the leader, in which case you still gotta fight to be king of the hill) and taking note of what the succesful companies are doing is a good idea, but Ill just go ahead and tell you that ive never seen a high ranking site/ map rank with a free google my business website. hope that helps.

For me a google site ranks above the threepack...

#1 in Organic, just below the 3pack, in an ultra competitive niche with a Google site. This is all I want for Christmas.

It's not important to create a GMB site if you already have a website. Normally businesses which are not in competitive niche in their local markets, they create GMB website to save money and time on hosting and D&D. However what's important in terms of rankings is to have a Google Business Listing.

Don't do it. If you have a website already, focus your efforts on it + GMB listing.

Out of the box GMB business.site will only rank for branded keywords. Don't compete with yourself trying to rank your website + GMB website.

Those websites are owned by Google, and you won't have GA running. Website assets and data is in G hands too. Implementation is simply rubbish, G wanting, yet again to have more control over the www. They also spam business.site creators to invest in PPC.

GMB can help with local SEO, but once you sign up there's no turning back.

You have been warned.

If you have website no need to create google business website. This option is for those who don't have their own website.
