[Help] I am confused in choosing domain extensions.

I am from india, I want to start an ecommerce store, which caters to indians only.
I am confused between .com and .in
I can't find many unique brandable names with available .coms
Would .in be okay to build a brand?

If you're planning on just focus on India a .in domain will be more than enough and actually, better in my opinion, since it can give it some sort of ''real'' ''local'' business feeling that might increase the trust of your customers.

A lot of indian websites do use .in, so you shouldn’t have any probelms.
In my opinion .com will always be king. Since you can’t find a decent .com, go with .in.

Pro tip: before you register a domain, google it and see if there are any existing businesses using that name.

Otherwise, there are some good brandable .com domains that you can purchase if you are budgeted.

if you are only catering to one country/area, then it's good to choose a nation based domain. as someone said earlier, it gives it a good feel.

also, it verifies that you are an seller in India (or wherever). Some extensions require proof that you live there or are based there in an effort to limit fraudulent activities.
