This Is Why Content Is Not The King

That's one of the top 1k affiliate sites in the world. If my memory serves me right, the estimated monthly earning of that site is around 100k

According to the owner, from his reddit AMA, most of the traffic come from social media, only few come from search engines.
Can you send the Reddit AMA link?

So if one buys an expired domain with super high authority he can rank whatever he wants with no content needed? :o

Link juice is supreme. Though combined effect of fresh content & links assists in getting pages indexed.

Content is King. It's very overhyped by content sellers. But content is fundamental. If you think about it, all you are ranking are documents with different types of content. So actually you are ranking CONTENT.

Sale Content...
Video Content...
Informational Content....
Sound Content...
....
....

Sellers created a huge miss-understanding about content. Mostly from people who want to sell you average text articles rewrites already millions times. They also consider it good quality only because CopyScape shows 80+ %.
G make it worse when are telling some fairy tails about, "create great content, and we will found it".

How can you deduce that content is not king when looking at just one website?

You have to look at the whole picture. Content also comes in many forms as well. I wouldn't say content is necessarily king, but it sure does help a lot.

Well, seems that they have a hugemongous amount of high DA links

Content is King (King like Elvis, Burger King and the King of Prussia)

However, it is not about QUALITY but about QUANTITY.

It can rank only untill some quality site compete with this one. till that it may there in top,

In the mean time russians are ranking sites with keyword stuffing.

Google didn't say content is King, Bill Gates did and I believe he doesn't do SEO himself and if Google said content is King then do the opposite and give more quality backlinks not increase you word count or better yet just do both

Imho, balance is the king ;-) balance of the content quality and quantity, number and quality of links, site structure etc. Saying that just one thing is 'the king' may be rather missleading...

Just my 2c...

Yes, Google is a dubious player that hides all the relevant ranking information. But from my years doing this stuff, well-structured lengthy, high-quality content wins at the end.

I do come across sites with questionable content strategy and in due time, they simply vanish like smoke on a windy day.

If you "WORRY TOO MUCH ABOUT WHAT OTHERS ARE DOING, YOU'LL NOT HAVE TIME TO DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO RANK"

Also, that site you exposed might be owned by a member of this forum. The last thing we want is for everyone to start posting URLs of websites with thin content and questionable backlinking strategy.

1) 17k Alexa Rank , ranking for 52k keywords..

2) Absolutely no content.

3) You can keep scrolling all day and you will still keep more products.

Some one should do a case study.
Its called on pageseo & targeted domain keywords

oh this site , man i noticed this site many years back . Nearly forget it after I saw this thread.

I bet the owner earn big from it. If you check their social media also got lots of real followers.

Actually I feel you can't compare this site vs content site?
This site is more on E com site than content site which provide informations.

This site I think quite long , if I remember well from SEO side. Some folks claim Domain age also count.
This site domain name also catchy in the sense easy to remember why i broke .

This sentence is quite popular under search engine , people will want to get rich or wonder why they are broke surely
will type , Why I'm broke etc thus this site surely will be fall under that search.

I not Expert still learning , this is how I feel.
