Since I started selling my own products on Amazon I began to wonder how I can get that no. 1 spot on Amazon product list for certain keywords. I began my research and noticed that Amazon algo it's a different animal than G algo.

Since G algo is desinged to deliver value to its users A algo is purely designed to generate sales. This is not ground braking info but baby steps is the way to go for me.

What I learned 'till now regardin A ranking factors:

1.) CTR - if your product is on page 2 and people search and click your product, this will signal A algo that your product have a customer base outside A and A algo will rank your product. This is kinda easy to automate. Will test further.

2.) Reviews - the best reviews are those verified purchase reviews. But how you can get those reviews if you sit on page 2 and have no sales? One way to go is to send free products in exchange for those reviews. This method is pricey and kinda time consuming. Unverified reviews are fine but don't have the same impact.

3.) Shares on social media that get clicks - Amazon knows that the viral effect can make millions in a short ammount of time and this is the holy grail of e-commerce. A good numbers of clicks coming from social media will rank your products. This is difficult to automate because you need a ton of social accounts and a ton of fresh proxies and a good software to manage them all.

4.) Sales - Confirmed sales are the best. But again how do you make sales if you sit on page 2?

Since I'm a noob regarding Amazon rankings I have some questions for you pros:

- It is worth it to rank a product inside Amazon? Or go the old fashion way and rank your amazon link on G?

- Is there dedicated section here on BHW for Amazon sellers and affiliates? I've searched but I found only old info.

- Can you point me to other websites where I can find good info about this subject? I don't need whitehat info.

Thanks.

Instead of sales, I'd go after Sales Velocity - that's the sales that has happened in the past 24-72 hours. So a product with 10 sales in the past 24 hours will definitely outrank another product with maybe 100 lifetime sales but none in the last month. This is the trending effect that brings products to the top easily and keeps them there.

I've never tried blackhat stuff with Amazon. Their AI algos are way too good and I definitely don't want to risk my account. So the best way to get you the sales velocity that you need to put your product to the top would be social media - use ads, bots, all the techniques that you know to build that momentum of initial sales and push sales velocity up and get the snowball rolling.

From what I've seen the Amazon rankings go like this (ignoring sponsored listings):

1) Prime products (FBA or Amazon's own brands) with medium to high Sales Velocity + lots of great reviews

2) A mix of the following two
Prime products without reviews with zero to medium sales velocity
Non-prime products with medium to high sales velocity + lots of great reviews

3) Non-prime products with zero to medium sales velocity

Keep these in mind when you target keywords. If you're planning to compete against Amazon's own brands or terms with a lot of prime products with great reviews, you better have a great product that is better than what they're selling.

Thanks for the tips @armur . Based on your tips I think that is better to do some SEO outside Amazon, rank your Amazon product page on G get some sales from google search and social media, at the same time these sales will rank my products on Amazon and maybe get some more sales? Am I missing something?

When you rank on Google it will get you sales & ultimately it will Trigger Amazon Aglo to Rank your product. So it's worth to Rank on G.

Yes, but it's private & only available for Jr.VIP. Here it is: https://www.blackhatworld.com/forums/amazon.160/

You can use AMS for your product that is on the 2nd page (even on the last page), That will get your sales & Reviews.

I know ranking on G works because I did it like an affiliate but the method is not consistent and everybody is doing it. I've ranked product pages for some products but used the same method for other products and it didn't work.

Yes. Ranking your product page on G works great too! You should check out the ranking parasite posts here on BHW.

A higher % of users ought to search for products on G & amazon peaks the search results. Optimizing G rank would really help in marketing the product. Thanks for the share, OP:)

Indeed but it's not consistent because G will rank some Amazon product pages but will ghost others even if you use the same strategy.

I'm trying to game Amazon algo inside Amazon website if possible. That's why I'm trying to get more info from more experienced users here.
