Seems like every auction site is selling trash for the past few months. Lots of spammed out junk domains and the few good domains instantly go up to the thousands of dollars price range. Anybody else seeing this or is it just in my head? Last year I got a bunch for good low price, this year the bidders r crazy...

Yep, price are going up really quickly now.
Probably because a lot of people learn how to use expired and also because of the "Selling BL business model".

It's just the market economy = supply and demand

Exactly what I think... maybe valuation is going up which will be good for those of you with nice domains.

There are strange streaks, if I could profile the average price for domains over the year, it will show a strange roller coaster. After a hundred years fighting with this I've found out that this is more of a cruise than a F1 race. I always used to rush the domain buying, ending with an overpayed ton of shit. Now I can leave 1 month without buying anything or a month spending 2K or 3K bucks.

I currently have like 5 o 6 domains untouched, so more or less if you know which is your time to market for each domain you can simply pace yourself over a 1-year period and you will end buying really great domain at moderate prices.

Shitty supply and huge demand. Prices are x3 what they were a couple years back. Plus, another thing to keep in mind is, that it's still summer and there aren't that many domains listed on auctions during this period.

So true. Noobs should just forget auction domains exist. I recently acquired a domain name with just 200 RD for ~$2500. Crazy stuff!

Exactly what I've been seeing. GoDaddy is crap and anything that's remotely healthy goes up in the thousands as soon as it's listed.

Seems to be the price range this year, guess I lucked out last year around this time there were some real nice domains I won for just a few hundred each.

This problem is made worse by these SEO bloggers and gurus who can't keep their mouths shut and have to out tricks every now and then for two minutes of fame.

I bought few domains in the last few days and many are over hundreds. In between, which one you were trying to get on? PM me. Just want to be sure i was not the one who took off. lol I was surely getting hard for few. :)
