New PC after turn on nothing happens

So on this 8gb ram stick from other PC you can install windows etc on Ryzen 2600x PC?

I didn't try to install Windows, but it works like a charm. Turns on every time. I can navigate BIOS and everything 100% everything perfect.

In fact, I'll install Windows just to cross that bridge real quick.

And while it does that I'll put this new Ram in my old PC, just to see what happens

What motherboard you have in another PC? Intel or AMD based?

Let me do a restart just to see what happens, and then turn on my usual 30 programs on it and see what happens.

Compatibility is not a sentence. Stick may work even if not compatible.

Nah bro, I'm not gonna do that.

One of two things is going to happen:

1) Someone figures out why the RAM isn't working on my new mobo and we get it working. @Visual Eagle suggested to overclock the Frequency of Ram to 3200 in BIOS, so that may be it. But I can't figure out how to do it. The BIOS won't let me change the frequency of ram/memory. Also eventually he told me "If you don't understand them then you might wanna take it to someone that knows more about building PCs," so we may not be getting any more help out of him. Still, grateful for the help he offered so far.

2) I remove 4 ram chips from both my old PCs (they are Exactly the same). I put one 16gb ram in each, and I put 4x8gb = 32gb of ram in my new pc, and call it a day.

I would prefer option 1, I would settle for option 2...
 
If the RAM doesn't work in my experience (and it's over 15 years of experience) you're not going to make it work by trying to do something fancy in the bios. It's usually screwed and you need to RMA It (return it) or it was incompatible. You could ask on an IT forum if anyone has used this combination of parts before. The disadvantage of returning it is some stores charge you a fee if they test it and it works.

I can't return it because it works. It works on my old PC, straight up. No BIOS changes no jerking around with it, no nothing. I plugged it in, turned on the PC and it works. Turned on all the programs I use on the PC, working just fine.

But on my new PC, it doesn't wanna work.

In some European countries (not sure if in yours too) there are 14 days no questions asked return right. Double-check if something like this exists in your country. Some shops just allow returns because they want to be nice to clients ;)

Just have to resell it then on ebay or something then get some money back and then buy some different RAM. Why do you need a 16gb stick anyway? The only way to use 32GB of RAM is if you're doing some serious video editing (not just normal editing normal people do) or scientific applications like calculating nash equilibria. You could resell your RAM, buy some cheaper RAM, pocket the change, and notice no difference.

And take out four 8gb rams (2 chips per pc) and plug them all in my new PC which has 4 slots for ram.

That way my initial plan still works. The old PCs have 16 gb each, and the new pc has 32 gb.

Of course, it's a bit of a disappointment as I would rather the new badass killer PC get the new badass killer RAM, but such is life. The 80/20 rule. If it's good enough, it's good enough.

It's a small disappointment. We all have them :)

Just go exchange the ram to something that is working if the OC thing won't do it. I think 16GB is plenty and it would be best for you to take 4x4gb sticks.

The 4 rams are exactly the same. I bought these 2 old PCs from the same place, same price, the same everything :)
 
There is one more reason to return ram - you won't be able to upgrade it on new PC if you use 8 GB sticks since you have 4 ram slots. Believe me - ram maybe your bottleneck if you want to run tons of firefox instances. I was running something similar on servers with 64 gigs of ram and sometimes 64gb ram was not enough.

I guess eventually I can just take out 2 of the 8gb rams, put them one in each of the old PCs.

And buy 2 new 16gb rams and put in the new PC.

Yes they certainly won't all be compatible in terms of size, but who cares. The new rams were not supposed to be compatible with the old PC either, and poof, they were.

It's all bullshit folks, and it's bad for you :D

 
Dude, did you use pcpartpicker.com before buying the components and building it?
If not, thats where you've gone wrong. Some of your components may be incompatible with each other. Put your components into pcpartpicker and see if there's any clashes.

If its not the RAM, its most likely CPU issue (bent pins). Are your pins bent?
This is incorrect .
If the pins are bent then the "circut" won't complete resulting in no boot to flash screen
 
Disassemble your PC and rebuild it again remove RAM, CPU... and try to clean everything too if there some dust, try to check your HDD or SSD if it not corrupted 'bad sectors' maybe, use another one if you can
