I don't wanna start an endless Mac vs. Windows fight, but let me say that Macs are so much overrated and overpriced. With the same money that you buy a Macbook, you can get another laptop with 2x better (or even more) specs, which is more powerful and can get more shit done. I agree that the OS might be better than Windows in many ways, but put Linux on it and you basically have a "Mac on hyperdrive" laptop - remember, Mac's operating system IS based on Unix, same as Linux, but it's an Apple-modified OS that isn't better than Linux in any way.

Is it true that mac is less likely to get viruses over windows? I'm more used to windows but got a mac mostly based on build and design, I agree it's overpriced!

That's just what I ended up getting actually Lenovo Thinkpad X1 carbon. Its done me pretty well. I did get a macbook air a little while ago as well (secondhand), and it was pretty decent but to be honest I am a Windows fan, so I sold it recently. Also have a desktop PC now (custom build) so the laptop only gets used when I'm out of the office.

Anyway, this thread is pretty old now, and seeing as I've already got the laptop now...
