Looking for a nice laptop, opinions?

I am looking for a new laptop. Yes I am actually making this post about laptops on an IM forum :-)

Anyway, I want something nice and fast. SSD is essential, and I want a good processor as well - I love the Lenovo Yoga laptops that folder over and turn into tablets, but as far as I can tell, the best CPU you can get in them is i7 6500u which only gets rating of 4337 on CPU benchmark. I dont think that is very good.

Anyone got any other recomendations on a laptop that looks nice, has good processor and performs well....?

MacBook Pro all the way for premium feel/ design. Asus do some sick Gaming ones as well

I do appreciate the beauty and power of macs but I just can't do it - I really am Windows forever :-)

Will look up asus gaming models though; thanks.
 
It depends on your budget, almost every brand has gaming laptops that are made with high performance in mind & are really fast, and since they can run the latest games (which require lots of resources), they can sure run everything you need related to IM. Over all brands, I prefer Lenovo, Toshiba and Dell (in that order). Lenovo laptops are beasts in terms of endurance and overheating, which is the main problem with any powerful laptop nowadays. HP sucks so much that I almost threw my first (and last) HP laptop I bought out of the window for overheating even when I was below 50% resource usage, and that was after 6 months only!
 
Razer Blade Stealth.

In terms of price, performance and build quality nothing on the market can beat it.

My current laptop and I love it
 
Macbook. The build quality is awesome. I've been using Macbooks since 2007 and haven't found anything else that comes close in the windows or linux world in terms of quality and stability.

Another thing I like about Macbooks is that they run really cool, you can have one on your lap for hours and not notice the heat coming from it.

I don't wanna start an endless Mac vs. Windows fight, but let me say that Macs are so much overrated and overpriced. With the same money that you buy a Macbook, you can get another laptop with 2x better (or even more) specs, which is more powerful and can get more shit done. I agree that the OS might be better than Windows in many ways, but put Linux on it and you basically have a "Mac on hyperdrive" laptop - remember, Mac's operating system IS based on Unix, same as Linux, but it's an Apple-modified OS that isn't better than Linux in any way.
 
Dell lapops are so quiet , and off course premium support.

I would actually prefer to run linux on my laptop, but I haven't found one yet that doesn't give me eyestrain or handles power as efficiently as my MBP. I still haven't given up looking though! The Dell XPS Developer edition comes close, but it still has a few warts that I'm not willing to live with.

Dude, even most of the Apple fans and mac users admit that their laptops (and pretty much all of their products) are overpriced, but they are sold on the design (which I admit it is pretty cool) and stability mostly. If we are talking specs while keeping the same performance and durability, you can definitely get better with the same amount of money!
 
Lenovo, stay away from them. They always seem to fall apart like a wet paper bag full of shit. I use to like their laptops. But the durability is quite frankly fucking pathetic.

What laptop model did you use? Quite frankly, I am surprised, because Lenovo has been absolutely amazing for me for the past 3 years.
