Using pictures with copyright

I run a news website and I write about entertainment. Things are going well, I have 4-5k daily visitors (and growing) and I just applied for adsense last night.

For now I'm using pictures from Pixabay and advanced Google searches. Pictures free from any copyrights whatsoever. But as time goes by I definitely want to be able to use copyrighted pictures. Especially the amount of pictures with celebrities in them are very limited without copyrights.

I've done some research but I can't really discover how to do this. Of course I do want to pay for it so I am able to commercially use them as I please. But where can I actually buy? And what about Adsense, how will they know that in fact I paid for it and will not ban my account?

I would be thankful for bloggers out there with some experience being able to help me out.

No, I rely on social traffic. Although I'm getting some organic searches though. But as my website is brand new I'm waiting to be indexed with all of my articles.

And after doing that I can use them as I please? And how will Adsense (and perhaps some other networks) know I paid for it and I don't have to fear a ban? I wonder how the largest news websites do this.

You have too many fears for nothing.
Ads3ns3 doesn't care whether the images are copyrighted or not. They won't ban you for this reason...

If you used copyrighted images, however, you can potentially face a copyright claim from the person who owns the images. But this has nothing to do with Ads3ns3. So chill out

Alright, good to know. I had no idea. That's why it's good to hear from people with experience in this field as I'm still learning. I'm still glad I played it safe with having no copyrighted pictures upon applying.

Same question from me as well. I have a friend who runs a very small news agency startup in India, Kolkata. He needs help getting an agency from whom he can buy images for the articles he publishes. I will look into getty as barto has already mentioned. Any other sources like AFP and so on? I really appreciate your replies.

I don't know the specifics of these image networks. I don't think you can modify the images at will, at most you can crop them or present them in your design, but you can't make derived works from them.

Adsense has nothing to do with this, except if the image owners report you you'll probably get banned.

Well the platform itself rarely bans you because of copyright unless someone reports it. So if you have paid for it you should be good to go.
