My Amazon Affiliate Journey

I agree with you. Using social media for promoting affiliate links can be very much like working for a sallary. At least on a manual and small scale.

First of all Good luck with your journey buddy.

How many keywords you are targetting and how many of them ranking on top.
Mostly people those who are in need to purchase the product, they will buy from your affiliate.
Join niche related groups on social media, then share your articles regularly.

Just do SEO for your main keyword side by side.

Is your keyword is low competitive and average product price is $50 above right?

13 right at the moment. 1 kw per article but I just have my domain name ranked and it gets low traffic.

My keywords I'm targeting are very low competition, I am confident I should be able to get each article on first page.
I have a mix of content. Buyers guide and how to's mostly, and most of my products vary. From $50 to $200.

The main keywords for my niche are going to be a little more difficult for me but a lot can happen over the next year.

I tried what OP suggested yesterday and got 14 clicks from one FB group. I also started making some kick ass pins and posting some affiliate links on Pinterest too and the ppl in my niche seem to really like that shit, as planned lol

Thats great.

Keep posting articles every week and join some Facebook and share your articles.

"How the homepage of affiliate Amazon blog should look like?"

Homepage with heavy to normal content like 500 words or homepage with magazine style ( articles links, headers, footer, sidebar)

Post as the home page will suit for a micro niche site, magazine-style will be good for authority site.

Yes. Here content must be at least 3000 words lengthy. It includes comparison table and product reviews.

Note: do not mention the product's price on affiliate websites.

Thanks, Yes it is out of Terms and conditions.

Seems that you have affiliated site/sites.

Be incredibly wary. I got banned for getting clicks from reddit. Apparently its not approved by amazon. They do check.

Yes. Im not only having affiliate site but also providing services. So I know very well how to build proper affiliate website and earn commission naturally.

Yes, they will ban.
Instead, you can share your buying guide on social media to get traffic naturally.

We have to consider it as a business. So do 100% properly. It will generate passive income.
If you can spend $300 initially, it will give you at least $100 per month.

Good luck with everything. I'm about to start my own amazon affiliate journey but with a little twist.

Continuing on with the change of plan

What I have done:

I found that a very broad niche with not that many competitors had perfect domains, so I bought 4 of them. I could probably sell them off right now for $1000 but they're great for what I want. The posts that I will have to make for the site are very short posts, but I'll bunch them together, to begin with, so I can get higher rankings. I'm not very knowledgeable in the area of SEO so I'll probably buy some packages here.

Current Costs:

4 Domains - 2 Year Registration at $11 each: $44

Hosting - Already Owned: $0
Total: $44.00

Current Earnings:

Total: $00.00

Upcoming Costs:

Link Building: $100 Budget
Miscellaneous: $50 Budget

I'm going to start writing posts on the 4th Of August, my daily goal is to write at least 2 large posts (2000+ words) and 25 smaller posts (100-200 words). I'm a very fast writer and the subject of these posts is very easy to write a lot about. I'm starting to write in two days as some of the domains need to propagate and I need to fix up my cms (Using lightweight cms with custom code). I'll do a little update tomorrow on how the domains are doing and whether I have fixed my code.

Thanks for reading.

following your journey, I have a new amazon affiliate as well although no sales yet (cant count the one from my mum :))

My best day as far as visitors came from a facebook post I did where I got 6 people but I have been focusing on SEO for the most part. My niche is a little tougher to write in though, at around 4 k words split over 2 articles.

Congrats on your sales ... with your changed direction are you still engaging with social media for this project at all or just switching over to building the site and getting seo done?

Best of luck

Hey!

I've stopped engaging with social media as it was honestly taking too long and with the little spare time I had it wasn't feasible. Currently, I haven't got any work that needs doing so I'm going to work my ass off on these sites to hopefully see results, I might buy some ads on adwords with a 0.01 cpc and see where that gets me but for now I'm just going to work for getting seo done and making a few articles.

I am doing the same, I was a bit jealous of some of the other journeys that were getting a ton of users from social media but for me the SEO aspect seems a lot better. I need something that can be more hands off once it gets going, See you at the finish line when were both successful :)

Quick Little Update

All domains have propagated, one took longer than usual. I have fixed my CMS and have uploaded it to all sites, everything is working perfectly. I have already written a 2000+ word post and am planning to create 20 smaller ones tomorrow. Once I have 20+ post on all sites I will begin link building.

UPDATE 03/08/2019 #1

I have started writing posts, I'm going to be focusing on site 1 for the first week, then site 2, and so on. Though I said that I will start link building once I am above 20+ posts, I have decided against this as that would not be worth my time.

Things Done:
- I have written 10 posts for Site 1.
- I have bought some SEO packages and have started link building and optimizing the site.

Things to do:
- Write 15 more posts today

- Create social profiles
- Write on more facebook groups
- Configure ads.

COSTS:

- SEO/Link building: $70

- Total: $92 [ + $70 ]

Earnings:

- Total: $0
