Yeh.. that's why I say , it is best antivirus from past thousand of years in India

Using NOD32 for 15+ years now, so far no serious infection. The very first layer of the security is the user though. If someone is not careful enough, even the best AV won't help in certain situations.

My Kaspersky just expired so time to go with NOD32 hope it turns out to be good like you say to restrict the usual serious threats...if you could let me know a deal on ESET I would appreciate it!

i am using nod32 at home, bought some hacked licenses

at work i'm using avg free version

both work nicely, but nod32 is better in my opinion

Well I've bought three licenses so far and all have been working nicely. Bought them for 2 years and it was quite cheap, less than 5€ if I remember correctly.

Avoid using antivirus.. Slows down your systems performance..

If you are using windows 10 which you should btw.. ..you won't need an antivirus..

Windows defender should be more than sufficient.

Wrong, and dangerous information. Don't tell people to stop using antivirus. If you don't know what you are doing, then atleast keep your mouth shut lol. By the way, Antivirus doesn't slow a PC down. Your HDD and RAM do. Switch to a SSD and a higher RAM, and you won't even notice the antivirus ever..

Anyway, these are the changes i would like to mention :

It's you as the user who needs to be careful. Avoid installing cracked software.

There is an organization named av-comparatives. They are an independent organization which tests various antivirus software.

Google them as i don't know if i can add there link here.

NOD32 is regarded as to be the better one in regards to the performance.
But coming to malware blocking Kaspersky is the better alternative.

Windows defender sucks in offline mode.

Yup, Antiviruses are only the first line of defense. They work by detecting known signatures. It's relatively easy to change the signature by changing variable names, functions etc and recompiling the program (so I have been told. I am mostly a web programmer, not a desktop one). So, the user has to be cautious.
What I personally do is keep my work laptop clean by all means. Everything I have in there are genuine software. I also have another workstation which I use for "experiments", if that makes any sense.

I use nod32 because it's lightweight with good detection and smadav as secondary av. About the slowing of system, I optimized my unit instead, disabled unnecessary startup programs and services and my laptop is high specs so no problem. As long as you have at least 8gb of ram and SSD, slow down is not a problem.
