Not at all what I was getting at. I was getting at the fact that you have to not hide your kids from everything that you seem slightly offensive/wrong, just for them to realize they don't know how the real world is when they are out on their own. They need to learn wrong from right. Showing them only right/correct things is not the way to teach them that.

Raise your kids however you want but trying to change the world for everyone else just because your kid is going to be a part of that world just isn't going to happen. Get realistic.

The purpose of this thread is to get this video down not to judged the op's parenting. I personally believe that this content is inappropriate and lil kids shouldn't be watching this type of cartoons. Yes a lot of cartoons are like this, but I dont want my child to learn anything about explosives or being naked at his age. Personally I don't like censorship like this. I remember as a child/teen there were porn popups galore that couldn't be stopped at the time. This poppet thing is nothing! IMHO. Even some of the cartoons I watched when I was 5 years old are now rated R. Nothing has changed just the "fairyed out, over protective parents" of modern society.

I would flag if it were something more serious but, I think it's better kids are exposed to this kind of material earlier on. I hate dealing with prude people, it just gets annoying.

The point of me saying the above statement is the fact of how people are raised. I don't like dealing with people who lead sheltered lives and don't know what's really going on in the world. If you can't accept the fact that people do drugs, people have sex for pleasure, and so on, it's always going to be a rough life for that person in terms of dealing with reality.

...It's censorship like this that leads to these sexually ignorant people and really just causes complications in life when all their friends are talking about it and they will be like what's that and look like a dumb @ss.

Yeah, but we usually watch cartoons at home where they can be re-directed and taught.. This wasn't a classroom environment. It was after school. They didn't have any homework and found a tube site that wasn't in the content filter.

I don't like cartoons as much these days either, but I let them watch them because I can explain all that stuff and redirect where needed if they mention it; and when they fail to give all of the details, I'll know what they are speaking of because I watched it with them.

We have to be careful with new content because you never know what you're going to get if you're not sitting down with them. So yeah, I know what you're sayin' but we're pretty active in their lives. They learn many lessons and we tell things like it is, straight up-- our political views, thoughts on current wars and poverty = Real stuff, great kids with big hearts and street smart... So for all of you talking about sheltered this, sheltered that... You don't have a clue.

unnacceptable for them to be viewing this sort of material

material. But really I think that any child that is old enough to

I don't have kids and doubt that I ever will so I have no comment on how anyone else raises theirs.

I will say that shielding children from ideas like pipe bombs blowing people the fuck up....that's not a bad thing. It doesn't mean that they'll be socially retarded or anything. It just means that they'll get to enjoy being little kids without having their mind and character coarsened so early. They're going to see and hear about plenty of bad shit in this world. Nothing wrong with sparing them that as long as possible.
