The school didn't show it, man. It was after care. It was my responsibility to pick them up earlier. It's my fault, mainly. I was surprised that the school board doesn't have kidstube in their filters for lower level elementary.

Again, this wasn't a class presentation. It was some kids including my own around a few computers in an empty classroom laughing at an inappropriate kidstube video. I blame myself, the school board and the faulty squid proxy configurations they use for filtering content on port 80. I'll be more careful from now on.

Anyway, you should watch the video.

BTW guys, I was watching pornography on the internet when I was 8, h4ck1ng MIT when I was 9, and making n4p4lm when I was 14 out of styrofoam and g45, reading anarchist cookbook and setting trees on fire. I also did some drugs. You're right, they are going to see inappropriate content, but I want my kids to be better than that. I don't believe in sheltering, but I do believe in controlling what my children watch.

I know what content does to a child. I've been there, seen it and experienced it for my self. The results are long term. I regret shooting that woodpecker when I was fifteen with that 4-10..

I really didn't mean to sound harsh, trust me, I have a daughter and I know how you feel and yes you do worry when they go on the internet, I don't want you to explain about the malware incident that is your business and it is going to happen because that is the way of the world of computing nowadays, my grudge wasn't against what you were asking, it was the fact you were asking us to flag a video on puppets, I apologise I was a bit sarcastic, but if it had been something more inappropriate then yes by all mean, we would be happy to flag it, but we are not the internet police and some people won't always agree with what you are asking, and to be totally honest I didn't agree with what you were asking, things will slip through the net and the kids will see them, you can't be there to watch them all the time

Once again I apologise if I offended you I didn't mean it to come across that way.

To those not reading the full original post, I encourage you all to read and watch the video in its entirety.. It's crazy, because someone noted, "its not our job to fight your parental battles"

I just want to clarify, since there will always be those who don't watch the video or did not read the thread before commenting, This is not a parenting thread. The thing is that that really there are those who make lame comments due to their lack of ability to express themselves or form a complete opinion regarding the issues at hand and bash the thread being started. Either become a contribution to this thread, or go to the next thread in the lounge. Ladrak: I believe in Freedom of Information & Freedom of Speech. Everyone's allowed to have their own opinion. I thought this was a joke thread when I first saw it...

My 10/11 year old cousin showed me this video a couple of months ago because she thought the signing was funny no other motive, she didn't seem too mentally scarred.

To be honest i'd say wrapping your kids in cotton wool will do more harm to them in the long run than trying to censor things like this from them, just my opinion

I agree, but the OP makes it seem like they were showing a terrorist training video when in fact it was just a harmless puppet show. I think that is why so many like myself are making light of this thread even though there is some valid concern.

I'm just asking for a couple of clicks here, fellas; not asking them to complete CPA offers here; and I need to clarify once more, I'm not making any money off of this either, so what am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong... You didn't have any say in the matter as it happened under the SCHOOLS supervision although i would inquire about why your children are watching internet video unsupervised.

To reiterate, peepers is mearly asking for help from his fellow buddies to restrict/flag internet content that is unacceptable to children, whether or not you agree, my guess is, 99% of us have never watched video on kidstube.com. Am I wrong?

I watched it, and saw nothing wrong. When I was at that age, I saw MUCH worse thing. At the age of 11-13, my classmates were already talking about sex. Mind you this was a private school. But guess what, nothing ever came out it. I honestly started watching porn at the age of 10 because my friends got me into it. BUT, it didn't affect me, I didn't become a sex freak, I didn't have sex when I was 13.

It all comes down to self-will. If you teach your kids properly about self-will, and having an internal locus of control, you can expose them to anything, and it won't influence their lifestyle.

Another example, I practice boxing, and martial arts, couple times a week, and feel very confident in my abilities. BUT, I have never fought, or sparked a fight. Nothing is stopping me from confronting a classmate and fighting him, and winning. But self-will stops that.

Instead of focusing so much effort and time on shielding your children, spend time on developing self-will inside them. That will last a lot longer than temp shielding.
