What unfortenately put me off, personally, is the Lounge-threads getting way too much exposure, kinda getting in the way of IM itself.
What could fix this is implementing a filter on 'Home' section, only to see new posts on certain subforums.
It's cluttered with too many BST, off-topic or introduction threads which just make me close the tab if I don't see something interesting right away.
Just my 2 cents.

+1 on this, I hate the guys that just post lounge threads, it ranges from shitty Facebook motivation to them drinking alone. Yeah sure lounge exists for a reason but that's ALL they do like this is some kind of Facebook wall.
Anyway I would love to contribute with a thread on SEO but it seems like my partner has fucked me over, not responding to my messages for a month and a half now

I believe he was talking about the loss of exposure for valuable shares (be it made by him or any other member) by the large share of Sales, introduction and off topic lounge threads. And I doubt he wants to buy ads for his own guides/case studies/ama's
I feel the same as @yakuzaemme too, way too much digging needed at times to get to the threads you are interested in.
Although this seems to be a quite useful way to stay up to date with the subforums I'd love to have a way where my alerts stay unchanged (I like to keep it the way that every alert is related to someone engaging with my posts) but I still would only see what interests me when I decide to casually check BHW from time to time. Maybe there's a way to make that possible and I misunderstood the guide above but that has been my first impression.

I completely agree. Plenty of spam and one-line responses, far too little actual substantive discussion or valuable off-topic contributions. While my argument for "bring back the good old days of BHW" has long been about forum engagement declining in recent years, I think a better descriptor is that valuable contributions and the true value-per-post has plummeted as of late. It's easy to spam 300 posts a week in the Lounge, it's far more valuable to prioritize value and authority over shitposting just to see yourself all over.
Tell your partner to fuck off and flex your SEO muscle.
I think what @yakuzaemme is trying to do is hide Lounge posts from being shown on the latest posts feed that occurs on the BHW home page, not follow sections and get alert-spammed when new threads are created.

I was thinking same. Thanks for posting this quickly.
Most of users check new content by clicking home/new posts. As lounge and intro posts get replies quicker than others then the home page seems occupied by less useful posts

Same goes for the egg guy, he was banned for a while got all of his messages on my wall removed then he was unbanned. This is also happening to Neon and I predict will happen to me sometime soon

Post that request in the forum suggestions subforum please.
You see some, we see tons in a section where they don't go live... little by little, piece by piece that is being fixed.
By tons I mean maybe 100 - 150 a day or so that never get past the filters.

This doesn't solve the issue at all, unless I have totally misunderstood this guide by Dont Panic. I appreciate what you have created in BHW @Diamond Damien
When I tried to follow the aforementioned guide to solve this it just gave a list of forums I liked, not a page that shows the most recently engaged posts from (every forum except the lounge in this case) I personally would love a homepage/link I go to even if I have to set it up via settings that is just like the homepage but I can exclude the lounge don't have time to go click on each forum if I just want a poly daily fix of IM.
I understand the lounge would drive engagement and visitors, I sometimes go on there out of choice if I have spare time and want to, but maybe just have a hidden deep setting for advanced users to find to shut it off from the homepage rather than having to develop browser addons to filter out posts from lounge on homepage :|
I just sometimes don't wanna even see post titles from kids in their moms basements who are likely to be the next school shooter yo when I'm focused on my bankroll being on swole.

Unfortunately, I'm talking about trolling in the general sense, not the strict definitions listed in the Newbie Guide (Three Commandments).
For example, let's say that someone joins and says that they started doing XYZ only a few months earlier, and admits that they otherwise had zero experience. Shortly afterward, they start hijacking every thread asking for advice about XYZ, insisting that the provider in their signature affiliate link is the only trustworthy provider, which they have been using for many years. When others give their own advice, they are harshly attacked and called liars. In the end, the threads get shut down for being off-topic, and OP never gets any meaningful answers.
In my opinion, such actions would count as selling outside the marketplace (referring to their affiliate link signature), trolling (claiming to have experience on the topic when otherwise admitting they are new), and harassment (personal insults and attacks). Going by the multiple report rejections across multiple threads, all these actions are perfectly fine.
I'm not trying to challenge the decisions here, I'd just like clarification on what "trolling" actually is in relation to enforcement of the rules.
