Supercharged Backlink Experiment - Results so far

Why is direct linking dangerous.

What gave you the idea this wouldn't work?

All you're doing is normal backlinking i see nothing to experiement with.... or have you been buying 10,000 backlinks for a domain or something?

There's nothing special you just build a few links.

100-200 links usually takes you to the top in a niche if you do it properly.

Still don't understand all the fuss

Its all been posted from a live experiment, split testing. what has been discovered is posted. Also If lot of people are following same procedure then again it is a footprint.. G finds it little faster. G wants people to spend money on advertising so it tries to kill every strategy which can increase the traffic from SERP. This guy is trying to figure out a foolproof strategy for whitehat purpose with the contribution and analysis of other members.
I am still following this thread and looking forward for more results.

Hey Micallef,

Did you have any results/conclusions from your 3rd experiment? I'd be interested in hearing about them. Thanks!

"3) Concentrated powerful links (not necessarily clean) into web 2.0 ----> into money site... I will post as I find out."

This only works for wordpress blog. My doorway used to work well but not anymore. I still get tons of traffics from baidu. But that's probably due to the pinging.

Do not link your site straight. Keep it to 1 million links only per domain. Then interlinks like mad.

I had the same story with you. for my 1st 2 months my keywords was in 1st page in google. Then my site was gone in SERPS. So what I did was just build more links then after a few week my site is visible again in #200+ in google for a certain keywords.

Last thing is that I tried taking off all the affiliate links. Its like magic! my site was back on 2nd page and has been there until now. I'm still doing link building until now. I'm trying to know what it takes for my site to rank in 1st page or totally get deindex in google.

Just like I said my site is still steady on the 2nd page.:) after it will gain some PR I think it might push back to 1st page.

I don't think PR will push your site. Only relevant links is matter.

Another few weeks on, with additional high quality high PR links having been added, it looks like I'm in the "sandbox" to stay. Nobody can say when I'll emerge but it doesn't matter.

To those members who maintain that the sandbox does not exist, I agree. I am referring to it as an effect, not a cause. The cause is not clearly understood by anyone outside Google.

However, after this experiment I have a greater understanding, and therefore more power against Google.

This experiment was number 2 out of 3 that I have been conducting.

1) Any link, anywhere, anyhow, 3000 links in 12 weeks = down in SERPs

2) 58 Concentrated, powerful & clean links in 6 weeks = down in SERPs

3) Concentrated powerful links (not necessarily clean) into web 2.0 ----> into money site... I will post as I find out.

I appreciate your thoughts and I hope that others will post the results of their successes and failures so that others might learn.

Micallef.

It could be your site is new and has no "trust" in google yet.

Actually my rankings were restored quite a while back.

Update:

My subbpages, on average, have slipped one position since last reporting. I have been building 1 link to each per week, which is a very low rate - I have been dealing with other projects. I will step up my efforts to see if I can restore the positions.

I found your experiment interesting. Why not offer the blue print. I would find that useful and thank you for sharing.

build LW with subdomains and then build LW around each subdomain.

Then tell us what happened :)

Can you share the below link locations?

Built 58 backlinks to the core domain (21 x PR7, 25 x PR6, 12 x PR5) (all backlinks came from pages with <30 OBL and pages that were free of common spam words)

No :o If I release them on this forum, they'll be worthless in a matter of days.

were the links free/paid? What is your predicted pagerank after getting backlinks from PR7 sites. I would think your site shud be atleast PR4 now...or is it not?

The site ranks well but it only has a PR of 1.

The links were free ones that I dug up myself.

Where did you get so much pr7, i guess only from digg right? If they are free

he is using digg for sure

Actually I never used Digg. I find my backlinks by following prolific spammers on the internet. By looking at their backlink profile, then doing site: searches and searches for similar defenceless commenting systems, I can get all the high PR backlinks I need.

another good way to overcome the sandbox problem is to create your money site, and just let it sit for a few months, jsut add a bit of content every week.

in the mean time write 10 good articles on related keywords and push them to the top 3 in google, preferably link them to inerpages of you domain. articles are far less likely to get a slap from google for explosive linkbuilding because they are on powerfull domains.

the articles will get you some sales in the early stages and will give the main site a few powerfull links. this way your site is making a bit of money while it is doing nothing.
after a month or 2 start building links to your main site and it should rank up fairly quickly. in addition the articles you wrote will stay up in the serps for a very long time if you did it right.

thats how i usualy do it and i rarely have sandbox problems. i still have some flux in rankings (google dance) but that resolves itself usually in a matter of days.

Supercharged Backlinks - The Experiment

About 5 weeks back on a thread whose name I've forgotten, I wrote about my plan to try and sustain a good rank in Google quickly for a new domain. I said I would keep you posted so this is what I'm doing.

After beginning to rank very well in week 2 (i.e. page 1 for most things) and keeping those rankings for 3 weeks, I woke up today to find my site gone from the serps. Same old sob story, but this time it's different. I meant this as an experiment and I am learning.

My Strategy:

Charge the core homepage of the new site with the strongest, cleanest links I could find. I know that it's generally accepted that direct linking is dangerous, but I wanted to see if using only clean and powerful links could overcome these dangers. I am conducting a separate test of using only deferred linking, and I will post results as they come in.

The main backlinking campaign was supplemented by on-context links from web 2.0 satellites which contain on-topic content.

Backlinks added and spread over 5 weeks:

Built 58 backlinks to the core domain (21 x PR7, 25 x PR6, 12 x PR5) (all backlinks came from pages with <30 OBL and pages that were free of common spam words)

Built 25 satellite web 2.0 sites (not interlinked) which themselves have been augmented with powerful PR5 links.

I mean this thread to be a journal for the experiment and I'll record any further developments here.

Micallef.

It can only work, all you are doing is what any successful marketer does on a daily basis.

Sorry for my poor knoledge, but I was thinking...

What if some one use this methods to shut down the competition?
In this case we may say that Google is being part of this startegy against an other website?

Thank you!

This happened to my website :( It jump to the top results really fast and now its not even indexed. Any ideas on what to do?
