Big IG accounts and not using hashtags

Hey guys!

So something came to my notice, i saw that tons of big instagram accounts (mostly meme niche and some other niches) don't use hashtags at all or only like two or three. My question is why? Wouldn't these accounts grow 5x as fast if they use 30 hashtags?

Crazy example, but like the ig pages memes or worldstar don't even use hashtags or only a few.

Yeah okay but if they would have used 30 hashtags, wouldn't they grow wayyy faster?

If I don't post hashtags I usually get more views from explore and other than when I post hashtags. Views from explore and other is way more important for me than from hashtags, since the follow conversion is about 2x higher on these two for me

Wait what? I've never heard of this. How is it possible that you get more views on explore without hashtags and stuff

Im not sure why it is like that. For 2 of my accounts (540K and 180K) it is like this, my third account (170K) is performing better with hashtags

Wow thats pretty cool to hear, also i'm growing my meme page (4k+ followers) and i'm getting daily very good posts (3k likes etc). Is there like a point for me where my account while grow much faster? Like now it's only like 40 new followers a day.

How many posts you do daily? For me there was no definite number of followers when the accounts started to grow fast, this usually happend after the first posts went viral

Well I post three times a day, and for my small 4k account the posts get like 3-4k likes with 20k-30k reach per post. For exmaple a post with 4.5k likes and 22k reach only got me 13 followers... While a friend of mine grew 100-300 followers a day with his 8k account.

Yeah.. already what my friend told me. It's a meme page so you should think people would follow for a funny post

They are popular enough that they don't need to use any hashtags.

hashtag will grow the viewers faster but it's not necessary you put 30 # with every in your post. If someone avoid hashtag, that means;
1. they don't care about followers
2. they have already a big number of followers
3. they don't know about the method of increasing followers
4. Or they are too lazy to lead the IG page
