Another Google Update on It's way

Same. No changes yet. Perhaps it will take time to update each data center all over the world.
You know, I quit my job about 4 months ago to pursue this online thing full time. It was great, still is great really. But I honestly feel like I would prefer a stealth update. Knowing my main source of income could evaporate from an update is pretty stressful.

Great, here we go again..

Their communications aren't always what they seem to be ;)

we all know there will come a day where google devalues any link from websites that don't get decent organic traffic (bye bye pbns)

This has been going on for ages now. I've posted about it https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/ranking-in-google-2018-for-fun-and-profit.1016669/

google gets smarter every day
black hatters might be running out of time

Would you trust their AI to drive your car? Considering the next post .....

This is what I talked about when I mentioned "teaching" Google's AI https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/ranking-in-google-2018-for-fun-and-profit.1016669/

You can teach it anything.

is the Google update finish ?

semrush sensor didn't show any big movement.
https://www.semrush.com/sensor/?db=US&category=16

Semrush will react with 24 to 48 hours into the update.

Does anyone else have a feeling this is a full roll out of the May 22 "indexing bug" that occurred? Noticed a huge spike in rankings that day, and optimistic me is saying that was their test before they roll out the algorithm today.

There is definitely something different about them announcing this update. They wanted the buzz of a new large update this time, when they normally do this quietly.

Personally I think the march and may updates didn't go well and they wanted to announce something like "this time it's fixed".

Quite the opposite actually. The first image shows a search that was fixed less than a month ago and the second one is still the same even today.

Google (and AI in general) is significantly farther behind than people on this forum will have you believe. It's smart, but not that smart.

Spot on. I've been saying this for ages. It's all about behavior.

From just now, "how many heads does a human have?"

Again: would you trust this AI driving your car without a steering wheel?

Whatever the update is :( it sucks.

traffic drop 75%

What niche?

Bro. I've been doing this since the mid 90's. Before there was a Google.

You've got to put your eggs in different baskets.

My income evaporated and I've built it back up about 20 times in these past 20 years. It's part of the game. If you want certainty and your salary available every 5th of the month then get a regular day job.

In this business nothing is certain. Not even for Google. A new tech can appear and Google can disappear in a matter of months. There are no assurances for anyone in tech.

Google says snakes got 4 legs.Google AI is smarter than charles darwin.

got updated. ranking for one of my keywords went from 1 to 2.

I don't think a one keyword ranking change by 1 position is a "major algorithm update". More like random fluctutation.

it was in the first position since the march update. who knows... will report back in few days to see how things are on my side

Adult.

“Sometimes, we make broad changes to our core algorithm. We inform about those because the actionable advice is that there is nothing in particular to “fix,” and we don’t want content owners to mistakenly try to change things that aren’t issues….”

Is it just me or others too already seeing a massive traffic drop, Keywords ranking gone

Maybe this is the reason why the traffic of my sites are dramatically reduce this past 2 days now. :(

A small niche site of mine has been hit.

The smaller keywords have dropped 3-5 places on the first page.

The main keywords have dropped from the first page to the 2nd.

90% of the links are PBNs (i know this is stupid but the website is old)

I had been wondering about this myself.

What I noticed on my site that was hit in March, was it bounced back (mostly) at the End of April / beginning of May for 5 days, then dropped off again, then came back a couple of days ago (mostly) and sitting nicely now. It does appear as if they have been making small changes to test/rectify March's update/mistakes, and are now confident so being more vocal about it.
