I've been working with many clients' social accounts for 5+ years and after a few Facebook algorithms it'd become rather tough to promote pages in organic way.

What do you think? Is it worth to continue working on social media or it is time to go over to paid promotional methods like ads and boost posting?

Of course, social media marketing is still effective. However, it has become increasingly difficult, with all of the algorithm changes we’ve had in the past few years. Still, if you have the perseverance to keep up with a regular posting schedule and with the changing tides as far as the algorithm is concerned, I believe you can do some great things. There’s a lot of research involved in the process of maintaining a company social media page, too, so we have to be willing to go the distance, I guess.

Social Media Marketing is also more cost-effective than all other forms of marketing. You can also run Paid campaigns on these social channels to enjoy better benefits. You can retain your customers just by creating engaging content and responding to customers on Social Channels.

Social Media is one of the quickest ways to get and communicate with customers. Here is the example might help you

1. Social Media - Customer > follow the brand on social Media > Actually Purchase Product
2. SEO - Customer > Search on Google > Read Blogs > Consider online Reviews > Actually Purchase Product

Social media is still great and rocking. Its the saturation which is making things harder day by day. There are millions of people who want to increase their reach, get more likes on their pages, etc all for free.

With Boosting your posts you start running ahead of your competitors thats why boosting is necessary in initial stage.

Once you get enough traction, You will get Organic reach too :)

Cheers!

Yes, Social Media Still Worth!

I agree that social media is still effective. With the Facebook algorithms has changes there is also Instagram and LinkedIn that are a great platforms to promote your business.

It is, I just miss the time when organic reach was more than 5% :)

I would do paid ads if I were you.

Yes, considering this now.

For me, Social media is better than SEO..

Thank you for replies!

In my opinion, Social media is still worth it. I agree that the Facebook algorithms have changed, they are now more cautious and critical about their terms now.

With their recent update, FB is also prioritizing posts that spark conversations and meaningful interactions between people. They are going to predict which posts you might want to interact with your friends about, and show these posts higher in their news feed.

I do agree paid ads will definitely work well to get a boost. But you can also try other social media platforms to get a diversity, YouTube and Instagram (stories especially) are more powerful as well.

Only if you know how to use it, because otherwise you're just wasting money.

Remember: Social media marketing (and marketing in general) is NOT for making money, but for bringing traffic: the money come later if you know how to monetize a targetted traffic =)

Each and every person has it's own opinion on this topic, here's mine:

Again, this is my personal opinion, and based on my personal experience, but feel free to add your comments ;)

Social media is the base of the internet nowadays. A few years ago, people used google as their start page on their browsers. Listening to my father however makes me realize people think that Facebook itself is the internet. Do you remember, a few years back people were killing with start pages... something like the top list sites nowadays, which they were using to get to their favorite websites. Today, people visit sites they see on social media. Yes, there is still potential in SEO, especially when they are looking for a solution for a specific problem, and that's what micro niche sites are for. One thing to remember, each platform is doing it's best to kill organic growth.. they are there to make money, not to give others ways to make money, however they are totally fine with it as long as you do your part. Yes, you can still get loads of organic traffic, but we live in an era where you must invest to grow. The data posted to social sites every second is simply too much to handle, that's why they are fine tuning feeds and home pages. If you are not ok with investing, paying for shoutouts or ads, social media will be slow and a pain in the ass for you.

Cheers,
z

Social networks are effective if you know how to use them. In the face of fierce competition, the first place is how well you design your content. Users and your patent clients, including getting used to a large amount of information and are becoming increasingly demanding. Therefore, in order to win this race, you need to know the "selling post."

social media marketing is still effective because
Every time you engage customers with valuable and relevant content on social media, it is an opportunity to move them through the customer journey. Building an effective social media presence helps you to reach out and create positive interactions, with each interaction building on the last.
