Hey guys, I wanna rank for "Colon cancer risk factors" - this keyword is quite competitive. Can anyone share some tips on how to do that?

Colon cancer risk factors
Yes! Too competitive keyword and competitors are very authority too.

Gov sites, Webmd, and much more.

The only way is some steps you took to reach your goal:
1. Already you pick the keyword/topic
2. Create bad-ass content for your blog (More than 5k+ words)
3. Optimize On-Page SEO & other factors.
4. Build some internal links (And, Create in-depth explanation articles for longtail keywords)
5. Find people who would link to this content

Thanks for your suggestions. I will definitely try creating long form content. I was thinking about the same :) Thanks!

whenever you have medical condition type terms like this, and the whole front page is filled with authority sites, I would say stay away from keywords like that, as your odds of ever ranking for something like that on a normal site are slim to none.

my suggestion is after you write a blog under that keyword in your title and in the description optimize it for SEO and then push some free/paid traffic to your blog from fb , ig , twitter , pinterest and watch your keyword grow in 6-9 months its a long shot but good luck

do not rely much on competitive keywords and try using unique ones that lots of people are not even going to think about this might help improve your rank

If you want to earn quick money then don't pick this KW...

there are some tips you can Choose the best keywords, based on your industry, monthly searches and more.
Create a content calendar that's based on related long tail keywords.
Learn more about your competition.
Know which keywords on your targeted list have the highest search volume.
Boost your search engine rank

I'd personally advise against doing that - already way too much competition. The secret lies in 10-50 monthly search volume keywords..

But, to answer your question anyway..

  • Write well-built and highly informative main article
  • Write support articles with related content and interlinking
  • Use related LSI keywords to support your main keyword
  • Efficient on/off page SEO
  • Smart linkbuilding
  • Guest posts

Try SEM first so you will be available for this keywords in search engine. then simultaneously try the link building such as Blog commenting, Outreach, Local Listings, Quora posting, Article submissions, Infographic submissions, Web 2.0 and many more...
