I used Backlink Checker Addon in Scrapebox a few days ago, I checked for a few links and it worked.

Yesterday, with the same account setup I checked Page Authority of about 120 urls, with 1 connection and 10 seconds delay.

It only returned errors (error 401 as I remember) for every result.
When I entered in my Moz account, they said that I've gone over monthly usage cap, and I exceded monthly usage limit (I had free Moz account). I saw that I had 163 total requests and 19,114 total rows returned. How is that possible, with only checking PA of about 120 urls?

I had to mention that I used every time a free proxy for my account, and my Scrapebox software wasn't updated to the latest version when I checked the PA (I noticed that later).

I want to know if I did something wrong, to not repeat same mistake with another Moz account.

On April 1 moz changed the free accounts from like 25K rows to like 2500, a 90% drop. A year or two ago they changed it from 1 million monthly to 25K. So basically it just keeps going down, wouldn't surprise me if they take it away entirely at some point, but right now its 2500 rows.

So if moz says you exceeded it, then you did. I suppose if you did 19K rows and you have 2500 thats why. Since it changed april 1st probably some of that was from march. Im guessing anyway.

I would try getting an additional free moz api, if you can and use that.

Thanks for your reply, but is normal to have over 19,000 rows after checking Page Authority of just about 120 urls?
I think I did something wrong in configuration, but I don't know what.

I have no idea, I never pay attention.

There is nothing you can configure in scrapebox that would cause this, scrapebox handles everything.

WHat loopline said is true, find sellers who sell moz api's, now I have seen premium plugin not giving spam score. I contacted scrapebox support they said they are looking into it. I am unable to work faster without that option.

Can you even get spam score anymore? I know moz changed stuff last month and built the spam score into the domain authority score. I thought at that point they took away spam score as a metric entirely. I could be wrong of course, I don't really use spam score, I was just reading on it and trying to fill the gaps.

That sucks that Moz dropped the number of rows so low. I relied on that when scraping for Web 2.0's. Any other way of checking metrics other than subscribing to the expensive monthly option on Moz and Majestic?

You can use dom detailer.

Also you can put more then 1 moz account in scrapebox, so perhaps just 10 or 20 moz accounts will solve it.

also on the spam score I found out that its only on the paid version of moz, its not available for free versions.

You have to sign up with a credit card to even get the free plan now. Wish I'd got more Moz accounts while they were free...

Ahh, thats interesting.

Prepaid cards then?

Or find someone who has loads of accounts and wants to sell them?

just use a group buy but no api .

your need a api supplier

I tried to make a second Moz account on a proxy , with a fake card, but I can't get them to accept it, and without card, they don't let you use API key.

It would be great if Scrapebox could develop in the future some addon to check metrics, like the old Google page rank.
Moz page / domain autority is very hard to use these days.

Sure, they would love to. Where should they get the metric data from?

Its not that they don't want to build it, its a matter of finding a free good source to get the metrics. So please tell me where is a good free source to get good metrics from?

Well, I don't know anything more exact than Moz PA, which also sometimes is quite different from Google's metrics. :)
Maybe Scrapebox could develop their own metric.

For this, it could be used a few free backlink checker websites (maybe backlinks combined from all these sources, with duplicates removed would be better than nothing). I saw some of these sites can show number of do-follow links, and number of different domains. Also domain age should be considered for this metric. And number of facebook and twitter shares (if it could be tracked). Number of external links on every page could also be considered in this metric, to avoid spammy pages.

Probably it would be very hard to develop this, and integrate it into Scrapebox, but it would be useful to have a metric to help in making a difference between sites you should post to, and spammy or very new pages, when you have hundreds of websites in harvester. ;)

This would be a MASSIVE undertaking. That would be pretty much scrapebox recreating MOZ as a company. There is a reason moz charges a lot, because of the team of developers and the data center of servers they need to make it happen.

I don't work for scrapebox, but I can tell you this isnt something they would do.

Plus then to spend hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of dollars and give it away free makes no sense. However if you want to develop it, and give it away free, Im sure they would implement it. :)

Which is the source problem, finding a reputable metric that is free is basically moz and thats about it these days. They have spent hours scouring the internet and there just isn't anything better. I mean they have yandex metrics, but outside of the Russian market its somewhat limited to its usefulness. Moz is sitll the best.

But moz has still never liked their data being used via scrapebox because scrapebox lets you use multiple accounts. They kept blocking scrapebox and scrapebox got around it and then they would block it. Until scrapebox found a way to hide it so it couldn't be blocked. They are fully aware of the massive scrapebox user base (even fortune 500 companies use scrapebox) and how much of their free queries come from scrapebox using multiple accounts.

Hence the credit card requirement for new moz accounts, they can't beat scrapebox, so they just limit the account setup. I mean moz used to give 1 million free queries a month then they knocked it to 25K when they were fighting scrapebox and then now its 2500 and credit card required.

Anyway, I don't think there is a better option, the key is free and quality metric. But if you find one, let me know, Im all ears.

What are the most common use cases for SB nowadays?

Curious because I only use it to check URLs for live links or to find expireds.

I think you should go indepth, I use it to find new unique backlinks such as classifieds, business listings, forums, edu sites, gov, infographics, guest posting. PA DA checking, scraping emails lot of stuff is there inside just look into it deeply. I got very nice output :D

yeah as mentioned above there are loads of uses. I mean I hear new use cases all the time and Ive been using scrapebox for 9 years. There are litterally tens of thousands of applications.

Its probably better to say, 'this is what I need to do, how can I Automate it with scrapebox" rather then what can scrapebox do. Because I could write a series of books on what scrapebox can do and not scratch the surface.

If its helpful I also have over 100 videos here
