To all Windows 7 users: are you able to use skype classic/version 7 on it?

I have heard that skype classic only works on Windows 7 and that too for some users.

how can it be? Franz uses chromium browser that uses the web version of Skype, I am accessing Skype this way without Skype launching in Windows.

Yes, that's the problem. Franz using web version which is the latest one i.e skype 8 but we need skype classic that MS has forcefully stopped even after widespread protests.
