It's "lowly-skilled" on purpose. That way, the only ones falling for it would be absolute dopes who would actually hand over their financial details to a made up personality.

Sad to say though, most of their confirmed targets are the elderly ones. Being able to work with a financial firm, I get to deal with these victims on a daily basis.

From basic scams about a virus on their pc, to some sort of government agency threatening them to get sued if they will not buy some ebay cards. So yeah, poor oldies.

Some people will be just too dumb no matter how old they are. My father is 65+, but he is smart enough to use a smartphone, manage his email account, fb, insta and more. He is also smart enough to ask me for anything he doesn't understand, instead of falling for them.

You should be proud, like be really proud and thankful. If you have worked in a technical support industry, it would really amaze you how some of these people could get very dumb. It would even make you question how they survive life for the last 60 years.

Example? A elderly person who doesn't know how to TURN THEIR PHONE OFF.
