Pinterest Journey to make sales

Hi Guys!
Since, Dec 2018, I was contemplating to start a journey of Pinterest as I was growing an account.
So now, here I am to pen it down before you.

Aim:
1) To grow Pinterest in 2 months
2) To start getting sales in 2 months (affiliate marketing)
3) To get guidance from experienced gentlemen here.
4) To provide you an insight of what it looks like

Before beginning, I would like to tell you what I have observed in Pinterest till now.

1) Pinterest account Growth depends on how you handle Pins, Repins, keywords, Boards, Group Boards, and Following.
2) In Pinterest, you can't pin one thing and link it to something else. It will get easily traced and taken down.
3) At start, you gotta warm up the account at least 2 weeks before joining any big group Boards or involving in any major thing.
4) When growing an account back in December, I have repinned many pins as compared to pinning my own pins. In this one month period, I saw a rapid increase in monthly viewers - from 0 to 218k
5) In this period, I have joined big group Boards and used to pin-repin on those. This helped me to increase my viewers rapidly.
6) At the same time , I was observing an account which rarely repinned. 95% pins and 5% repins. It was constantly on 63k monthly viewers.
7) Continuing like that, it is now at 300k+ monthly viewers along with sales.
8) Repinning a pin in around 8+ boards (in a single session of activity i.e. back to back) may get your account suspended.

Okay, likewise there will be many such Do's and Don'ts on the go.

So, lets have a look on my current situation.

2 months old Pinterest account
7.5k monthly viewers
2.5k followers
4.7k following
19 group Boards
2 my group Boards
Total 45 boards
Total Pins - 600+

All the above stats are merely a result of casually spending time on Pinterest (nothing serious involvement needed)

But from today, I have set some small targets to complete on a daily basis. It will include the following:

No. of Pins to do:
No. of repins to do:
No. of Messages to do (for group boards):
Follow:
Unfollow:
Blog post:

I will update it daily.
Let's see how it goes.

March 16:


1)No. of pins and repins to do - pins =20 repins = 81

2)No. of people to message - 0 (block)l

3)No. of pins to design - 30

4)Make 2000 words content for website - made an article of around1000 words

5)No.of people to follow - around 100

6) Unfollow will be done once a week - 0

Something that I observed with influencers on Pinterest is that they have Group Boards of their own more than others group Boards.

March 17th

1)No. of pins and repins - 81
Pins- 15
Repins- 66

2)No. of people to message to join group boards - 1 (hit the block thereafter)

I have messaged 6 people on 15th back to back, hence Hit the block

3)No. of pins designed - 30

4)Make 2000 words content for blog - 800 words

5) followed - 120

6)Unfollowed - 0

So, my monthly viewers count was already going down and still goin down.
But if I continued doing pins and repins , it will definitely start moving up in few days.

Besides this, I have found that,
Pinning your pins on the group boards of others don't have much effect as compared to pinning your pins to your group board having other influencers as contributors.

If you have a group Board where only you and an influencer are pinnners, will do much good. Well I haven't tried it but have observed many people doing that.
I am aiming to try the same.

Well, your traffic will surely increase if you are using others group boards and just repinning lots of stuff. (I have done that myself before, but the problem is you don't get the clicks concentrated on your pins, though monthly viewers rapidly increase)

Also, your old pins should be repinned from time to time.

18th March:


1)No. of pins and repins - 120
Repins: 62
Pins: 17
From Instagram: 5
From Google: 20
Repinned old pins:16

2)No. of people messaged to join group boards - still not able to send messages to new people or invite anyone to Join my board

3)No. of pins designed - 30

4)Make 2000 words content for blog - 300 words

5) followed - 361

6) Unfollowed - 0

Finally, along with the impressions, my monthly viewers and monthly engaged has gone up.
Monthly viewers increased by 1k
(It was decreasing before)

Clicks will take time

I keep checking which Board is giving good impressions and clicks to my pins.

It is not necessary that all the group Boards will work good for you.

New task:
1)Have to use other accounts/Social Media to approach people.
2) Convince influencers to repin my pins

Current status of my Pinterest Account:

Monthly viewers: 33k (started from 7.6k)
Following: 6588
Followers: 3341
Avg Clicks: 10 (very low!)

No. of Pins: 2100

No. of Boards: above 50

It's important to share your pins as much as you can, so that in future, the abundance of your pins may help you for good conversion.

Also, you have to keep some selected Boards where only your pins are saved. And one of these Boards can be chosen to keep for Pinterest Cover.

Till now what I am not able to do is writing 2k words article daily for my blog. I think it's a too much of a task. But I am trying to get on it.

Making daily 30 pins takes around 1.5-2 hrs
I was making pins on blogs of I have affiliate link.
But find out, if I make articles for my own blog, then I can save a lot of time while making pins.
Hence, I have left making pins for a while, so I have 1week of pins pending to be designed.

But I will complete it soon as I complete some articles for my blog.

For now, I have many pins already designed , so need not to worry.

Likewise, plans will keep changing but not the motive!

How to pin Instagram post (pictures & video) to my board ?

You have an option to share a post on Instagram feed.
Go to a post
Tap on the 3 dots on the top right
A new window will pop up
Tap 'Share'
Then go to the bottom and tap ''share links with other app'
There you will find an option of Pinterest, tap on it and go

I already tried this, Unfortunately Pinterest couldn't able to pick right pictures for that post from IG.

That is how you do it. There is no other method that I know.
What you are mentioning happens with some posts, But doesn't happen with every insta post.

Current status of my Pinterest Account:
Monthly viewers: 45k (started from 7.6k)
Following: 7136
Followers: 3548
Avg Clicks: 19 (very low!) No Improvement
No. of Pins: 2300
No. of Boards: 65

Finding the right group Boards or grouping with the right person can only increase clicks.

Being a part of the board, should mean being a part of that persons profile.
And that person should be a regular pinner, especially, on the board that you have made with him. That person should have wide reach obviously.

I have a feeling the older more seasoned your account gets the more powerful your pins will be. Followers are almost irrelevant in the new Pinterest Ranking system. Unique pins tend to do better than repins.

Yes, I design using Canva. Immensely helpful.

@wcp31 right, older the better. But You need followers so that your pins can come into their feed.

Hi guys!

My account have been suspended 4 days ago.
(Though I have 3 more accounts)

So what I observed is:
Don't repin your old pins too much in a row.
That may suspend you.
I was doing this a few times recently, and finally they got me.

But I also observed that there are still some accounts who repin their old pin, the same pin,
around 60-70 times continuously,i a row, but still aren't suspended! I am surprised how are they doing it!

at 7) you are talking about your account that was repinning, not the one account that you observed and had only 5% repins?

Guys,
Though I have received my Pinterest account just after a week it was suspended.
The reason they told me is that they got in the mix and suspended some good accounts like mine which had to do nothing with the spam or any suspicious thing.

My account is currently having 14k monthly viewers and I've paused it for some time as I am continuing with Link Building for a website (along with my exam preparations.)
