BHW marketplace 2.0 - thoughts.

Picking up the points from a thread that I'd moved off topic.

I'm not a big spender in the market place compaire to others but I do use it often for cheaper services and I would happily pay the extra 30% if it meant they are cheeked on a monthly basis by bhw. The reason I say this is in my experience some sellers are great and keep to the original quality but others drop there quailty once approved for example two of the mirfo nieche site sellers I've delt with have let there standards drop to the point where one that claims the site included hand written native quality articles just used spun articles (that service I actually contacted them with links to the original websites and pages they used to spin the articles and got the articles re done but again it was spun lol luckily in the end they refunded so I could use someone else) and another I used (currently there's a sl open in regards to this) just copied and pasted articles again I provided them links to the articles they used to copy ect. If theses services where slightly more expensive but reviewed monthly or ever 4 times a year (every 3 months) seller would he forced to keep the quality up. I also think if you do go down the reviewing every few months route then after they have the thread approved the monthly/3 monthly ect reviews should be done by mods asking people in the thread who have used the service to let them see the work done/ reports ect that way they can't just increase the quality when they know there doing work for a mod

Thanks for your thoughts. We do blind reviews (ie the sellers doesn't know it's us) at the moment on many of the threads but not as often as this service would allow us to. Where the quality of a service drops consider bringing it up with the service provider first, if that doesn't work and they don't up their game immediately then start looking elsewhere, each week our newsletter has a link to the most recent suppliers from each marketplace. We have a number of long term and dedicated service providers on the forum and fresh members coming in each day. Our intention is to provide closed loop feedback where we can confirm that a buyer has actually purchased from a specific seller and the comments are from a verified buyer to ensure the quality is maintained longer term.

As a company owner in a country (Macedonia) where the average salary is 300-350$ I find the Enterprise membership a bit too expensive (2.500$ + 600$ each month) for the benefits it bring, even tho it is available for UK and US only. There are services that do not make that much money on BHW through the month considering the price they have for the BHW members.

However, having the marketplace re-worked is definitely needed as in my opinion, it is really getting out of the standards. I fully understand that the marketplace is one of the main sources for funding BHW but that does not mean that hundred of threads needs to get approved without finding a way for double checking the quality of each service every now and then (I find this impossible right now due to the lack of marketplace mods, taking into consideration the amount of threads that are currently active).

I am pretty sure that BHW (the sellers) lost a good amount of clients just because the marketplace by itself is not organized very well. When someone gets to it and see such a 'mess' of hundreds of threads in each mkt subforum, all having different and clickbait names with random (star, tick...) symbols, it is most likely he will skip buying from here as he will get lost before even trying to read the inside of each thread.

Hi @Veil123, unfortunately, you're right - just now we can't offer Enterprise to anyone outside of the US and EU. With the volume on the marketplace, it's an interesting issue to have and we try and maintain a quality standard whilst including choice at many price points. re your final point it's horses for courses, some react to the click-bait style content others prefer "Content $1 per word" style basic and to the point copy.

I have questions-
1. This 20-30% will be for what price and sort of services?
2. You are talking about paying more - who will stay ready to pay buyer members or sellers?

Instead aren't we able to add a choice button under each thread and dual pricing system.
1. For delivery under care of mod and secure payment, just similar to escrow payment or something.
2. And one as it is going right now.

First one will also ensure the quality of job, buying in 2nd pattern will have the current module.

Hey @Brilliant Digital Services - Have answers.
1. It will be a percentage of the price of the service/product sold. Higher for fresh accounts, lower for engaged members.
2. The buyer will pay BHW we will "escrow" the service and then pay the seller the balance less fees.
3. Button choice on current marketplace threads - interesting idea. Will add it into the consideration pot.

I am still relatively new to being a seller.

But, I think one of the main issues will be the people who come for cheap services. The cheaper the service around here the more sales.

I am not sure if a large number of people could afford a price increase.

20%? I would pay 100% more, especially for link campaigns, but @Zwielicht would have to be the one reviewing them as he is the only Super Moderator in this place I can fully place me trust into.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, you'd definitely still be able to search for results from your prefered reviewer.

Would the 20-30% come off the BST sellers price, or would it be added just like Fiverr with the $1 transaction fee etc...(I assume that's why the reference to Fiverr)?

Really.. Escrow, worst idea EVER!!! With a BST I want people to come to my site and I'm in control of the sales. No money, no delivery. 20-30% of the service offered, too much! So you have to pay BST costs, then have to give 20-30% of your profits to BHW...

And what if you are selling a subscription? How you going to deal with that?

I vote no!

Now, that's the reason I came up with suggestion of buyers choice. They should get an opportunity to choose same service at lower or at higher price via BHW mod review.

I believe we will have that option open for customers who join us for real reviews.

In SEO, that I do I wont sell that under any sort of guarantee.

Actually, it should all come under choice and preference.

Don't you think that this will raise some out of the system payments?
20%-30% I belive it's too much, however, I totally agree with it if it's total safety.
But don't you think people will start saying "Buy this outside of BHW system and save your 20% and still will be scamming around?

Its a terrible idea.
Whats the purpose - to stop people getting scammed? So instead of the person who gets scammed paying everybody else has to pay now?

Instead of re inventing the wheel fix the issues people have with the current marketplace (which is good)

The world doesnt need another fiverr

So to reiterate and get some clarifications, future state of costs to BHW to sell services are:
  • Jr. VIP, which will be increasing 50% annually
  • Sales thread cost
  • The BUYER pays an additional 20-30% on top of the service cost, which is pocketed by BHW
  • Whatever the cost of escrow would be
In return, we will have the fantastic new ability to have this same entity essentially controlling where money goes, on a BLACK HAT forum, that has had user information leaked publicly in the past, has been the subject of FBI investigations, and sells shady services like cracked Spotify accounts, game hack spam, and document forgery?

I'll be 100% honest, I use this site mainly to interact with others that are in the same field I am, and to provide writing services occasionally. I have also bought tens of thousands of dollars in services from BHW members via the site, and have reviewed thousands of dollars on top of that.

This would be a double kiss of death for me. Fourfold cost increases that affect both buyers and sellers, on top of the current issues that have been going on, I don't see how a massive drop in engagement and quality is not on the horizon. Fix your current issues (blatant fake review spam, site downtime, nightly spam threads where fixes have been proposed and ignored, attrition of high-value members leaving the forum, etc), THEN talk about shiny new objects.

I don't know. Would this make the barrier to starting a sales thread higher or lower? I would certainly be prepared to pay a cut to make the market place better, and I'm sure everyone would, but 20-30% seems quite high. What exactly is this figure based on?
