hello everyone,
I was looking for a domain but it was taken so I thought of why not get the same name in another language. I wanted to know the seo dimension of such a thing.

Thank you

Unless you'll develop your content around that language

Will it be easy to get natural links to the translated domain? Will people link to it?

I have not seen any such example except for a few brands that are german and the site is targeted at USA. I dont think a lot of people would know danish language there. And when I type it in the google I dont see any related site.

There are tons of GTLD's these days....you should probably register a domain in the target language. Unless you got tons of $$$ to get the alternative translation well known enough for people to realize it means the translated meaning.

Yes Agreed. If you are looking for SEO advantage of using that particular domain name then Its very hard to achieve it. So better Switch to other GTLDs or else go with some Brand name.

Yes, sure as long as your audience is fitted to the language, seo will work out fine.

Branding a new name was what I was after. But like @bartosimpsonio said it takes a ton of $$$. Therefore I decided to go with another variation of the name.

Audience targetted was English speaking but the word I wanted to use was in Danish. I wanted to brand the name but like other guys have mentioned it is not gonna be feasible in newbie stages.

It's possible. Tbh as long as your market correctly and on page content is good (when you want to go for seo) then you most definitely can create a brand/domain in another language. The word has to be some what similar to English. (English characters)

Guess I have to do a case study.

@pythoncode, Kingdra876 Let me give you guys an example, like instead of using doghouse.com we use Hundehutte.com.
