I actually do not use any. I think I have just become used to ignoring ads naturally. However saying that, I find it interesting having visited a couple of services (websites) from BHW that they pop up in ad's on footy sites I frequent.

So some of the guys here are pushing their SEO services on some of the big networks, and it would be interesting to know their clickthrough and sales rates. Just curious.

That's called retargeting.
You can set how many times you want a specific user to see your ads.
If you notice them, means not all the ads are ignored. CTR on display ads is around 1%.

I don't. I didn't used to because l wanted to support the smaller sites that relied on ad revenue. Now I don't do it because I don't install plugins on my browser.
Anyway, most websites I go on don't have that many ads.

I stopped visiting techradar when their adds made navigation on my iPhone impossible a few years ago. But then again, I was only visiting out of habit when travelling, so nothing lost. That is the thing, there is so much choice for users, that if you do not like the experience, you just find what you want elsewhere.

This has taught me a valuable lesson for the design of my sites and improved the UX in googles eyes, which in turn helps my rankings.

Might just be the sites I visit. They are very mainstream, well apart from any SEO research.

I went to a news site a few days ago and they had this stupid advert covering the top third of their page. I immidiately left and will never go back to their website again, being able to see what their adverts are like and how they use them gives me a good idea of how reputable that website is.

Agree with that 100%. Which is why I use the BBC or news sites behind paywalls.

When I log out of Outlook online mail, it automatically takes me to MSN, man, that place is a mess. There is no way I would browse their news homepage. Looks like a cross between the Daily Mail and The Enquirer. Neither would I trust for quality.

Saying that. Do you guys not see the BHW ads?

I don't use an adblocker as find it hypocritical for me to earn money off others aeeins ads on my sites whilst I'm activtly blocking ads on sites I'm visiting. But if a site is over kill with ads or pop ups/understand then I leave the site and don't go back

Some sites just overloaded with ads making the browsing slow and affecting overall experience, others are completely fine

Adblockers are for those that have no interest in learning how others generate revenue.

Fine for my children; not something that an IM person would do if they wanted to build on what they know to compete in their field.
