Hi all, I'm about to launch a new website but I am torn between using one of the new domain extensions or using.com.

Which one would you use and why?

All those fancy TLD you see are considered as ".com" by Google so it doesn't really matter ;)

This whole "doesn't really matter " is quite BS.

It doesn't matter when it comes to SEO, even though, how many of these Ntld you see on the first page, barely any but technically it shouldn't matter.

But now for the matter that is important, trust! People still trust a .com, .net, .org and local tld more than the new ones.

A new tld can be nice if you already have an established well-known brand but I'll stick primarily with what works best.

i like the .io and .im but Billy Batts is right People still trust a .com, .net, .org and local tld more than the new ones.

If I plan to use SEO, I'd definitely get a .com (or .net / .org / .com with dash). But I do have some new TLD's though.

I think it's pretty clear that generally, people tend to key in ".com" more often than any other TLD's. Don't think it affects SEO much, or at all, like some of the others have said. However, think of it like this - If someone were to key in your exact domain name in the address bar, what's the first thing that'd come to mind? Aside from that. I don't think there are any other major differences.

Thanks for your input guys, really appreciate it. So the overwhelming majority agree to stick with .com

.net .org are also trust be people if .com not available

If it's available for ".com" then go for it and if not then go with whatsoever is available

ok the .com has registered...but the .net and .org is available. would you choose one of them as opposed to a .software? (I have the .software registered )

Why do you absolutely want to buy the .net and .org aswell ?

Personally I only go for .com's if I'm doing something for someone who wants to rank faster and is only a local business - say a hooker - I use the country url

.com is a global extension but it may cost you high . Nowadays, many new extensions are in trend like .io , .ai and even .co .Just contact a good service provider like namekart.com.

I think it matters. Otherwise .com domains wouldn't be that pricy.
