How much Traffic shared hosting can handle?

I Know the Topic should on a different thread but I asked this question on the realated thread but no answer

I have GoDaddy starter shared hosting with details:

• 1 CPU
• 512 MB RAM
• 250,000 files
• 100 entry processes

I am getting about 3-4k visitors per day, for now, there's no problem but I just want to know.
How much traffic can this hosting handle? when should I move to VPS?

Your hosting provider is the best person to ask. They will have much better understanding of your specific hosting plan. You will also want to ask them if your site will be instantly suspended or what will happen if you get 50,000 visitors per day or something.

Most of basic shared www hostings have just limits of visitor connections at the same time (for example 100 simultanously), not the visitors daily/monthly limits. Search for such info on your hosting rules. On my shared hosting that number is 100.

EDIT: I just read on my hosting rules that daily limit is active too. It is 1.500.000 page loads.

Also, on my hosting breaking these rules doesn't mean account closed, only blocked for one day.

An "Entry Process" is how many PHP scripts you have running at a single time. Our shared hosting has a limit of 100 PHP scripts at a single time.

Keep in mind an "Entry Process" only takes roughly a second to complete, therefore most people get it confused with how many visitors they can have on their website. A 100 limit Entry Process doesn't mean only 100 people can be on your website at once because the likelihood of all the people hitting your website at the exact same second would likely never happen.

An entry limit of 100 usually handle 150-200 visitors on your website at a time depending on script.

As per my experience shared hosting environment can take around 10–20 thousand unique users per day and also it Depends on your requirement and cost and other features. If your website have more traffic then you can move on VPS and Dedicated Hosting.
