Almost no country force you to do that. But by US laws they are required to cooperate. And most of them do keep logs because they won't risk their ass and company because of yours monthly $10.
US is well known for mass surveillance and it was their idea to create international surveillance alliance. Good enough for me to avoid those 14 countries, especially US that started all that with GB.

There is no risk from building a VPN system that is unable to keep logs, as its not a requirement in the U.S. They only requirement is to hand over anything you have after a court-order.

Yes but thing is you can't trust them. NSA would pay millions to popular vpns just for a backdoor or to make them keep logs. The risk is risk, it's better just to avoid it.

Over the past years I have thought a billion of times to checks whats in there but never actually did. The last time was a couple of days.

I have heard many bad things all those mentioned above.

If you are using it use tor over a VPN(Paid).
If you are not using a vpn and are doing some illegal stuff you can still be traced as you ISP will be able to see who is using tor .

Yes except it's different if your provider is based in Switzerland and if it's based in US. I'm just saying it's better to stay away from those countries if you are interested in your privacy as you won't get it there.

Anything that will bring the attention of the NSA to you is also bringing the attention of every other intelligence agency in the world. If you are not doing something that the NSA cares about your privacy is safe.

FBI is really not our concern. They are nothing. Basically what VPN does i protecting you from ISP knowing that you are connected to a Tor.
If you don't do some serious shit online you won't be interesting to a big agencies. But if you do, they will track you to your VPN provider. And they will find out your ip only if your vpn have saved it, else there is no other way. But several providers already proved that they keep no such a logs. So yes, fbi is all over the world but they still have to obey privacy laws of each of those countries. And we can agree on that for example Panama or Switzerland have some good laws.

The privacy laws of Panama and Switzerland are not going to stop the police and intel agencies of those countries from investigating and sharing information on criminal activity.

I have been in social networks of dark web. Some of them stopped working while I was active. There are several good and bad groups with a clear purpose. I have learned short codes for weird porn, violence related stuff. Some sites are only accessible through windows (Not OS but temporary links that route traffic to some deeper levels for a few hours). Most crazy things people talk about exist on surface of darkweb and you don't need to dig any further for them. I have visited market places that sell illegal stuff and forums that discuss about deeper levels. Once you make friends with a few people, you can find additional info. But most senior members stay away from newbies thinking if they are FBI. I finally got tired of it and never accessed it again.
