[New] Instagram Update - Bio

Hello everyone!

Today instagram relased new update, where they mess with BIO.
IMO this is not that bad idea, now you have to impress potencional follower with only few words in your BIO.

What is your opinion?
I am curisous what other people will say about this.

Definitely agree with Mark being fucking idiot, but i don't think this is so bad.
It will look more clean plus you will see more posts upfront and don't have to scroll down.

Also it is only small change, they've planed much more bigger changes like re-designing whole profile page.
I do have access to it on one of my testing accounts and it looks terrible.

Honestly, it's a good move on their part. They're trying to minimize advertisement done without using their ads. Sure, from an IM perspective I hate it, but it's a good move on their part.

Yeah IMO this is not that bad update,
also few people has already this feature in their profiles - it has been posted somewhere on reddit. (can't find the author)
This feautre would be amazing to have. (impressions from hashtags)

i think that as long as they allow you to post your links in the bio and to put up to 5 words this update won't affect you as an influencer or a shoutouts seller .. today stories are playing a much bigger role in instagram marketing than these short bios.

I wouldn't be surprised if they've removed that on the other hand most people use their platform so they can sell something to their audience - meaning they will bring more people which will stay longer on Instagram - more ads.

It is nothing what will hurt your account, i asked yesterday my girlfriend what she thinks about it. She answered very simply: „If i don't like the Profile, Posts or Stories i don't follow that person / page, i don't even read the bio.”
And i believe that most people who are just regular followers - meaning they go to the platform because, they are bored or want to have fun. They don't care about the Bio that much. So that's why i think instagram did this small update.

People read the bio only if they want to learn more things about the page. Most people don't care, you've got only few seconds to impress them with your profile and your content, if they don't like it, people are going to leave.

Nothing has really changed cus you still have to impress people with your content, and if they want to look at ur bio, they will click more and that's all.

There is no other reason or explanation they would do it....they did not do it to make the profile look more clean. Haha It is simply one more step to reduce visibility of a website and to keep people on Instagram longer and not go offsite to an online store, Youtube channel, etc etc.

The link in bio stays, you don't have to click more to see the link.

What do you mean? The link in bio isn't affected as far as I see.

Depending on your country, you may not be seeing this update yet. For me I only see the first few lines, and then have to click "more" so now I am not able to just view an entire bio quickly without clicking more on every one.

Now the bio being shorter than before. It is a challenge to even give the introduction to people.

Followers should be impressed by profile photos and video but not with profile bio. I don't see nothing bad about that update.
