Does anyone believe that using Gmail for SEO services eg link reports can bust your PBNs or is this just conspiracy theory?
Why even test it if there is a chance it is not safe?
I personally would not do that.
Thanks would you recommend another provider like Protonmail or just do it on your own domain?
I use my own domains - that is about as secure one can be.
I'd recommend using either your domain email (not linked through gmail) or use GMX. The reason I say to use GMX is because that's the email provider Satoshi Nakamoto used and people still don't know who he is. Considering what he's done, you'd think it would have leaked by now, so I'm pretty confident that GMX does a great job when it comes to respecting peoples' privacy.
Protonmail should be fine, like others have already said, your own domain would be great too. We always try to warn our clients not to use Gmail with our email forwarders.
Dang tried sending to a fresh gmail from my domain, just goes right into the spam box.
I use a little different system for my clients these days.
I create a page on my site that is password protected and upload the reports there for them and then send that page link and pass to them as well as use a service that you need to log into to retrieve the reports.
If G is reading gmails using some kind of AI it probably does not go so far as to follow that chain.
There are some other benefits to using my sites themselves as the reporting entity but I am fairly confident it helps in security.
