Does anyone believe that using Gmail for SEO services eg link reports can bust your PBNs or is this just conspiracy theory?

I use my own domains - that is about as secure one can be.

I warned people about this for years. Then I gave up.
There are tons of sellers selling links using G.
I wouldn't go near them with a 10 foot pole.
ADDED: Some smart sellers mascherade G using a domain name, but use G in the background. I got a reply from a link seller from G and immediately cancelled the deal.

Cool I'm gonna test one of my domains now and see if it actually sends into the primary inbox, or gets thrown in the spam folder.

Dang tried sending to a fresh gmail from my domain, just goes right into the spam box.

I won't risk it. I've wondered the same and I remember asking the same type of question here before...

Im pretty sure google employees don't sit in a giant room and compare data from two separate departments (seo, gmail)
These companies have strict procedures.
I don't know if you guys have worked in a real software company.. I'll give you a real-world example.
Apigee -> A google company - api gateway solutions
Mulesoft, Akana, WSO2 - among many others are competitors of Apigee. But they use "Google services (Gmail, docs for business)" to talk to their customers. Keep in mind these are million dollar deals. Apigee can easily view these leads and convert those customers. But they wouldn't dare. And it is not that simple either.
My take: if you are not going after giant keywords.. i don't think it really matters.

I wouldn't worry about, honestly is not that they can't, it is that they don't care. First, it would be just way to computer exhaustive to be done, and it is not the philosophy behind their development. They want to find sites out of the site data itself instead of outside data, so they do not depend on a certain service to get results

I'd recommend using either your domain email (not linked through gmail) or use GMX. The reason I say to use GMX is because that's the email provider Satoshi Nakamoto used and people still don't know who he is. Considering what he's done, you'd think it would have leaked by now, so I'm pretty confident that GMX does a great job when it comes to respecting peoples' privacy.

Thanks for the advise, I've been having trouble sending into the inbox using my domain so I think I'll just use Protonmail, I'll take a look at GMX too haven't heard of that one b4

I use a little different system for my clients these days.
I create a page on my site that is password protected and upload the reports there for them and then send that page link and pass to them as well as use a service that you need to log into to retrieve the reports.
If G is reading gmails using some kind of AI it probably does not go so far as to follow that chain.
There are some other benefits to using my sites themselves as the reporting entity but I am fairly confident it helps in security.

Nice yeah much more discreet, what got me thinking about it was how good the AI suggested responses are getting in Gmail.

Update: I figured out why the emails from my domain were going into the spam folder. I had to set SPF, Dmarc and PTR record for the domain. It was a bit over my head so I contacted my host and they did it for me, now sending straight into the Gmail primary inbox from my own domain. Sweet. Did it from cPanel which is a little impractical to mail from regularly so trying it with Thunderbird next. Thanks everyone for the advises.

And I got Thunderbird now hooked up to my custom domain, sending right into the primary inbox. Sweet. Wasn't that hard for me to do I recommend others try using their own domain for emails like this.
